Pyrolyte, also known as sodium hydroxide in chemistry, is a white crystal at room temperature and is highly corrosive. When people accidentally bring pyroalkali into contact with their skin, it can burn the skin. What should you do when a pyroalkali burn occurs? 1: What to do if you get burned by alkali1: If alkaline liquid contacts the skin, it can be cleaned with 5-10% magnesium sulfate solution; it should be immediately washed with a large amount of boric acid aqueous solution, wiped dry with a rag first, and then rinsed with plenty of water. In case of burns, get medical attention. 2: It is recommended to use water-based drugs, which can reduce the possibility of wound hyperplasia. For the treatment of burns and scalds, it is recommended to use "Changhe Classical Antibacterial Spray", formerly known as Shaofukang. 2. Nursing precautions1: If the wound is damaged, do not let it come into contact with water before it heals. If contact is necessary, you can bandage the wound and wrap it with plastic wrap before contacting water. Afterwards, remove the bandage and change the dressing once. In addition, in terms of diet, avoid spicy foods (such as chili peppers, onions, ginger, alcohol, etc.) and high-calorie foods (such as lamb, dog meat, etc.). It is better to eat more high-protein foods, such as crucian carp soup, fish, shrimp, eggs, etc., which are beneficial to the growth of wound cells and accelerate healing. Three: Treatment of common burns1: Cold therapy is to rinse the injured limb under running tap water or soak it in a large basin after a burn. If there is no tap water, the limb can be immersed in well water or river water. Cold therapy can lower local temperature, relieve wound pain, prevent further thermal damage, and reduce exudation and edema. 2: The duration of cold therapy is usually based on the fact that the wound no longer has severe pain after the cold therapy is stopped, which is approximately 0.5 to 1 hour. The water temperature is generally 15-20℃. If conditions permit, you can put some ice cubes in the water to lower the water temperature. Timely cold therapy can neutralize the residual heat that invades the body, prevent the continued penetration of heat, prevent the wound from further deepening, and reduce the depth of tissue burns. 3: Cold therapy can also reduce edema. After a burn, the skin capillaries expand rapidly, the capillary permeability increases, and a large amount of plasma-like substances leak out of the blood vessels to form edema or blisters. Cold therapy can cause the capillaries expanded due to high temperature to contract rapidly, reduce the exudation of plasma-like substances, and relieve edema. Therefore, the sooner the cold treatment after a burn is given, the better. Don’t worry about bacteria in the water or the burn wound getting infected if it comes into contact with raw water. Early cold therapy of the wound should be performed without hesitation to minimize the damage. Although going to the hospital immediately can provide the best treatment, sometimes the golden time for wound treatment is missed, resulting in irreversible damage deep in the wound. 4: Once the skin is burned,The injury will be irreversible. The formation of scars after deep burns is inevitable, and scar contracture deformity will directly affect the work, study and life of the injured. However, if we seize the brief golden time after a burn to perform simple treatment on the wound, the extent of damage will be greatly reduced, scar formation will be reduced, and the prognosis of the injured will be greatly improved. |
