In recent years, it seems that there is an outbreak of avian influenza in my country every year. Some cases of avian influenza even spread very quickly, causing many people to be very frightened. Even during the avian influenza stage, many people did not dare to eat poultry such as chicken and duck because they were afraid of being infected with avian influenza. For the health of our people, some medical researchers in our country have started research on avian influenza vaccines. Avian influenza is not only difficult to treat, but many patients also develop certain sequelae after treatment. Therefore, the only best way to prevent people from being harmed by avian influenza is to use avian influenza vaccine. So, has the avian flu vaccine been successfully developed? The "Development of Human Avian Influenza Vaccine" research team announced on the 24th that the Phase II clinical trial of the human avian influenza vaccine - the pandemic influenza whole virus inactivated vaccine jointly developed by Beijing Sinovac Biotech Co., Ltd. and the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention was completed recently. Preliminary analysis results show that the vaccine is safe and effective for humans. On December 22 this year, the results of the Phase II clinical trial showed that the three antigen doses of the vaccine used in the clinical trial can induce the human body to produce a certain degree of antibodies. Among them, the three indicators of protective antibody positivity rate, antibody positive conversion rate and antibody geometric mean titer (GMT) increase multiples of the 10mg and 15mg doses of vaccine all reached the internationally recognized vaccine evaluation standards, indicating that the vaccine has good immunogenicity to the human body. Based on the observation results of local and systemic adverse reactions of the subjects, no serious adverse reactions occurred, indicating that the vaccine has good safety. It is reported that the success of the Phase II clinical trial of the human avian influenza vaccine has provided my country with a scientific and effective means to respond to the influenza pandemic, indicating that my country has completed the technical reserves for responding to the influenza pandemic and has the conditions for vaccine reserves. Although my country has successfully developed an avian influenza vaccine, the vaccine has not yet been formally tested on humans. Therefore, there is no way to use the avian influenza vaccine to prevent the disease in the next two years. Therefore, if you want to avoid the harm of avian influenza, you must pay attention to self-protection during the avian influenza stage. |
