What to do with back pain during menstruation? TCM has a way to treat it

For some women, menstruation is like a battle because they experience lower back pain and back pain during menstruation. Traditional Chinese medicine points out that low back pain during menstruation is mainly caused by physical weakness, liver and kidney deficiency, and accumulation of cold air. Low back pain during menstruation can be treated with traditional Chinese medicine.

1. Massage

1: Press the lumbar sacral area with your palms: Lie prone and press your palms together on the painful lumbar vertebrae until no pain is caused. One inhalation and one exhalation counts as one time. Do this 10 to 15 times.

2: Massage the waist and back: Rub your palms together to warm them up, then place them on the lower back and massage up and down 5 times until the area becomes warm. Keep your palms on the waist for 3 minutes. When doing this, your movements should be gentle and your breathing should be natural. Under the guidance of your consciousness, you should gradually coordinate your movements and breathing.

3: Rub the muscle knots: Use the tip of your thumb to carefully touch the waist and sacrum. If you find any painful lumps, press them with your fingertips and rub for 1 minute.

4: Tip: Do not hit your back and waist hard during menstruation. Hitting the back and waist will further cause congestion in the pelvic cavity, accelerate blood flow, cause excessive menstruation or prolonged menstruation, and make the back pain worse.

2. Hot compress

1: Lie on your back and place a hot, wet towel (not dripping with water) on the painful area of your waist and the sacrum slightly below. Place a hot water bottle on top and apply hot compress for about 10 minutes. Then apply hot compress on both sides of your waist for 10 minutes each.

Three: Daily care

1: Avoid cold and dampness, and keep warm, especially in the cold and damp seasons of winter and spring, and you need to keep your waist warm. Try to avoid getting wet and cold, or sleep in a ventilated place.

2: Women who sit or stand for long periods of time at work should move their waists appropriately to relieve tension in the waist muscles and relieve pain.

3: Avoid eating too much raw, cold and damp food. Even in summer, you should not drink too many frozen drinks. For cold fruits, such as watermelon, you should not eat too much at one time.

Four: Women should be especially careful during menstruation.

Pay attention to hygiene and health care, and remember not to eat spicy food or do strenuous exercise. Get plenty of rest and relax yourself.
