What to do if your child has a fever and vomits? Family care should be timely

Children have weak constitutions, low body resistance and immunity, and are easily attacked by viruses, causing colds and fevers. Some children may also experience vomiting after having a fever. When mothers encounter this problem, don't panic. As long as home care is done in time, this symptom can be solved.

1. Causes of vomiting

1: Gastrointestinal cold. When children's respiratory tract is infected by a virus, they will experience nausea and vomiting, and in severe cases, they will be accompanied by diarrhea, abdominal pain, etc.

2: Throat irritation. After respiratory tract infection, the throat is infected, with redness, swelling, secretions, and coughing. If vomiting occurs after coughing, it should be considered to be caused by irritation of the throat.

3: Fever causes intestinal dysfunction. After fever, gastrointestinal motility slows down, the effect of digestive enzymes decreases, the baby suffers from indigestion, abdominal bloating, and is prone to vomiting.

2. Home Care Methods

1: When a child vomits, place him/her on the bed and let him/her lie quietly. Place a basin beside the bed in case the child vomits again. Also, rinse your child's mouth with cold boiled water to remove bad odor in the mouth.

2: For children with pyloric stenosis, do not feed too much at one time during breastfeeding, but make sure that the child has enough water intake to avoid dehydration. You can adopt the method of small meals and frequent meals, such as using a small spoon or small cup to feed the child small amounts of milk or water multiple times.

3: Do not rush to feed your child when he or she is vomiting, otherwise it will only aggravate the vomiting. Give your child some light salt water or sugar water every 10-15 minutes, and pay attention to whether the skin on his hands is dry to prevent dehydration.

4: When vomiting is severe, you should hold the child up or let the baby sit up. This will not only make the child feel more comfortable, but more importantly, you don't have to worry about the child choking on the vomited food and blocking the respiratory tract.

5: When children vomit, their clothes and sheets often get dirty. Be sure to change them frequently. If there is any odor left, it will more easily induce vomiting in children.

Three: The mother should observe whether the baby is accompanied

If the baby has high fever, diarrhea, bloody stools, crying, oliguria, etc., then he may have other diseases and needs to go to the hospital for emergency treatment.
