Colonoscopy is a relatively important examination method, especially for intestinal polyps and intestinal tumors. It can have a good examination effect and is a good method for preventing colorectal cancer. In recent years, people have paid more and more attention to their physical health, and colonoscopy is relatively important. Generally speaking, colonoscopy anesthesia does not cause much harm to the body. Let us learn more about this aspect. Indications (1) Anyone who has upper abdominal discomfort, upper abdominal pain, decreased food intake, black stools, vomiting, or is suspected of having chronic gastric or duodenal diseases but has not been confirmed by various examinations should undergo a colonoscopy to confirm the diagnosis. (2) If an X-ray barium meal examination reveals intestinal ulcers, intestinal polyps or intestinal tumors, but the nature of the disease cannot be confirmed, a colonoscopy and biopsy are required to determine the nature. (3) Patients with chronic enteritis need regular colonoscopy or those who need to be diagnosed with pyloric obstruction. (4) Patients with colorectal cancer need to undergo a colonoscopy before surgery to understand the type of tumor and the extent of the lesion, so as to help decide on the surgical plan. Regular follow-up examinations are required after intestinal surgery to observe changes in the condition. (5) Upper gastrointestinal bleeding (black stools or hematemesis) requires emergency gastroenteroscopy (within 24-48 hours after bleeding) to find the bleeding site and perform local hemostatic treatment. If the bleeding is severe, external surgical treatment can be performed. (6) If any foreign body is found during colonoscopy, it can be removed. If there is polyp, microwave treatment or electrocoagulation and electroresection can be used. (7) Persistent or recurrent obstructive jaundice, the cause and nature of which cannot be determined by general examinations. (8) As a treatment for intestinal lesions.Contraindications Contraindications for electronic colonoscopy: Endoscopic examination should not be performed when the anal canal and rectum are narrow and the endoscope cannot be inserted. Patients with symptoms of peritoneal irritation, such as intestinal perforation, peritonitis, etc., are contraindicated in undergoing this examination. Avoid colonoscopy if there is acute infection of the anorectal canal or painful lesions, such as anal fissures or perianal abscesses. Women should not be examined during menstruation and should be examined with caution during pregnancy.
