What to do if you have a sprained neck? Methods to relieve sprains

In our daily life, if we have a bad sleeping posture at night, we will find that we have a stiff neck and difficulty moving our neck when we wake up in the morning. These are actually symptoms of cervical sprain. If we often keep our neck in one posture or use too much force in our daily life, it will cause neck sprain. So what should you do if you sprain your neck?

1. Massage

1: If your neck is not twisted very seriously, you can gently massage it with your hands to improve blood circulation in the neck and relieve neck pain symptoms.

2. Use a support or neck pillow

1: If your neck hurts so much that you can't turn your head, you should use a brace or neck pillow to support your neck to avoid injuring your neck and causing secondary injury.

3. Do shoulder and neck exercises

1: Tilt your head toward your left shoulder, place your left hand over your head on the right side of your head, and place your other hand on your right shoulder. Then very gently try to pull your head to the left, then tilt your head toward your right shoulder and do the same movement.

Four: Lateral neck pull

1: Have the doctor stand behind the patient and the patient sits on a chair. The doctor opens the palm of his right hand and places it on the left side of the neck. He places his left hand on the right side of the head and applies force to the left, asking the patient to fully relax and keep his hands in opposite directions. When the side flexion reaches the maximum angle, pull it with a little force and a "sound" will be heard. Then apply the same method to the opposite side.

Five: Apply plaster

1: You can choose a plaster for treating bruises and sprains and apply it to the place where your neck is sprained. Press it hard to stick the plaster tightly.

6. Hot towel compress

1: Sometimes a sprained neck is caused by a previous cold neck. Therefore, when a sprained neck is caused by a cold neck, you can use a hot towel to apply heat to it several times. The effect will be better if you persist in applying heat for a few days.

Seven: Neck rotation and twisting method

1: The patient sits upright on a stool and the doctor stands behind him. The doctor places one hand on the back of the head and the other hand on the mandible. After a little movement, the doctor asks the patient to fully relax. When the rotation is to the maximum angle, the two hands twist in opposite directions and make a "sound", and then the same method is applied to the opposite side.

8. Take painkillers

1: Take one painkiller orally for temporary pain relief. You can choose safflower oil, Gancunshan rheumatism oil, Yun essence, etc., rub the painful area 2 to 3 times a day.

9. Use the pain-relieving ointment, swelling and fragrance-relieving ointment
