What are the big, small, and triple positives? Which one is more likely to develop into liver cancer?

Regarding primary liver cancer, which has been on the rise in recent years, more and more studies have found that it is related to hepatitis B virus infection. Therefore, the carcinogenicity of the highly contagious "big triple positive" infection is often considered to be greater than that of the "small triple positive". So which of the three Yang is more likely to develop into liver cancer?

Which of the three Yang is more likely to develop into liver cancer?

The researchers analyzed that, based on clinical significance, "small three positives" generally indicate patients with acute hepatitis B virus infection that is recovering, chronic hepatitis B, and healthy carriers of chronic hepatitis B virus. Because its clinical symptoms are not obvious and are easily ignored, it poses a great potential risk to human health. In contrast, patients with "big triple positive" have severe clinical symptoms and are easily taken seriously and treated, and they are transformed into "small triple positive" or other patterns. Therefore, the detection rate in patients with primary liver cancer is much lower than that of "small triple positive".

Researchers pointed out that if people with "small three positive" have risk factors such as lack of rest and alcoholism, it will aggravate damage to the liver, gradually develop cirrhosis, and may eventually lead to primary liver cancer.

Symptoms of primary liver cancer

1. Pain in the liver area

More than half of the patients experience pain in the liver area as the first symptom, which is mostly persistent dull pain, stabbing pain or distending pain. It is mainly due to the rapid growth of the tumor, which increases the tension of the liver capsule. If the cancer located at the top of the right lobe of the liver involves the diaphragm, the pain may extend to the right shoulder and back. When liver cancer nodules become necrotic or ruptured, it can cause intra-abdominal bleeding and acute abdominal symptoms such as peritoneal irritation signs.

2. Systemic and digestive tract symptoms

The main symptoms are fatigue, weight loss, loss of appetite, abdominal distension, etc. Some patients may experience symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, fever, and diarrhea. In the late stage, anemia, jaundice, ascites, lower limb edema, subcutaneous hemorrhage and cachexia may appear.

3. Hepatomegaly

The liver enlarges progressively, has a hard texture, irregular edges, and an uneven surface in the form of large and small nodules or lumps.

4. Symptoms of liver cancer metastasis

If liver cancer metastasizes to the lungs, bones, brain, etc., corresponding symptoms may occur. A small number of patients may have special manifestations such as hypoglycemia, polycythemia, hypercalcemia and hypercholesterolemia. The main complications of primary liver cancer include hepatic coma, upper gastrointestinal bleeding, tumor rupture and bleeding, and secondary infection.
