Many married female friends who have never given birth are afraid of giving birth because they have heard adults talk about how painful childbirth is since they were young. In addition, the childbirth process is different for each person due to their different physiques. Therefore, in order to have a smooth childbirth, they must understand in advance how to push for a natural birth and how to give birth quickly. This will reduce the pain during childbirth. 1. After the cervix is fully dilated When the cervix is dilated to 7 or 8 fingers, the expectant mother will be transferred from the delivery room to the delivery room. After the cervix is fully dilated, the perineum swells. At this time, you should push during uterine contractions to increase abdominal pressure and coordinate with uterine contractions to promote delivery. When the pregnant mother is experiencing uterine contractions, she should first take a breath and then hold it, pushing down with force and holding her breath to increase abdominal pressure, as if she is having a bowel movement. When she can no longer hold her breath, she should start to exhale, and then immediately inhale again and push forward. This increased intra-abdominal pressure promotes uterine contractions and can speed up the delivery of the fetus. 2. Intercontraction period When there is a break between contractions, pregnant mothers should rest quietly, relax as much as possible, and breathe evenly to restore their strength. At this time, the fetus can get a lot of oxygen and the expectant mother can also store energy. If abdominal pressure and uterine contraction force are coordinated properly, the baby's delivery time will be significantly shortened. Never waste the precious time between contractions on shouting and screaming. This will not only consume physical energy and cause fatigue, but will also lead to weak uterine contractions and affect the progress of labor. 3. When the fetal head can be seen When the fetal head can be seen, the doctor will perform a routine examination and instruct the expectant mother to apply abdominal pressure. If the cervix is not fully dilated, do not push even if you feel a strong urge to defecate, so as to avoid fatigue in the later stages of delivery. Expectant mothers should breathe with their mouths wide open during contractions, relax muscles all over the body, and not hold their breath or wait for instructions. Wait until the doctor tells you to push, then do so. 4. Tips: During the period of applying abdominal pressure, the doctor will choose to perform an episiotomy on the mother based on the specific situation, which mainly depends on the degree of descent of the fetal head. If the fetal head is delivered slowly but has been seen at the vaginal opening; and the expectant mother has been applying abdominal pressure for a long time, up to 30 minutes or even 1 hour, the doctor will use forceps or a vacuum extractor to assist in delivery, and perform an episiotomy on the expectant mother (to avoid perineal tearing). |
