Medicines are relatively important things in life. Medicines can promote physical health and solve most disease problems. However, medicines are still harmful to the body and can cause some abnormal symptoms. Among them, medicines are most harmful to pregnant women and may cause fetal maldevelopment or miscarriage, etc. Let’s take a look at what medicines can cause miscarriage? I hope everyone can understand. During pregnancy, drugs that can cause uterine smooth muscle contraction, such as ergot, motherwort, vasopressin, oxytocin, prostaglandins, trichosanthes and quinine, are prohibited because these drugs have the risk of causing miscarriage or premature birth. If oxytocin must be used for induction of labor, the drip rate should be adjusted according to the uterine contraction and fetal heart rate to prevent the fetus from suffocating in the uterus. Laxatives and strong irritant drugs such as magnesium sulfate and castor oil, etc., can reflexively cause congestion of pelvic organs and enhance uterine contraction, leading to miscarriage due to their stimulating effect on the intestines, so they are generally avoided. Pregnant women should pay attention to the following when taking medication during pregnancy: Penicillin: It can destroy fetal red blood cells, cause severe jaundice, and cause fetal death. Streptomycin: causes congenital deafness and skeletal malformations. Tetracycline: causes incomplete enamel formation, bone and heart malformations, congenital cataracts, short or missing limbs (such as missing four fingers), neonatal hemolytic jaundice, and in the most severe cases, kernicterus and even death. Oxytetracycline and doxycycline: cause short limb deformity in the fetus. Chloramphenicol: causes blood circulation disorders, respiratory insufficiency, cyanosis, and abdominal distension in newborns (also known as "gray baby syndrome"). If used in large quantities in the late stages of pregnancy, it can cause neonatal thrombocytopenia, aplastic anemia or fetal death. Karamicin: causes deafness. Erythromycin: causes congenital cataracts, limb deformities, etc. Gentamicin: Causes ear damage to the fetus, and even causes congenital gastric vascular malformations and polycystic kidneys. Sulfonamides (mainly long-acting sulfonamides and antibacterial enhancers): cause hyperbilirubinemia, kernicterus, and malformations. Heroin: causes fetal respiratory depression and death. Meperidine: causes neonatal asphyxia. Morphine and Anone: They inhibit the breathing of the newborn, causing the newborn to be in a withdrawal-like depressed state. If taken one week before delivery, it can cause convulsions, excitement and sharp crying in the newborn. |
