What is the treatment for vitreous opacities?

In fact, it is better for patients with vitreous opacities to be treated through traditional Chinese medicine methods. For example, Shan Gou and Liuwei Dihuang Decoction have a good effect of replenishing kidney qi and nourishing the liver and kidneys. They can also help us improve floaters caused by liver and kidney deficiency.

(1) Rehmannia glutinosa

12 grams of cooked rehmannia, 6 grams of raw white spoon, 9 grams of angelica, 3 grams of chuanxiong, 9 grams of stir-fried pollen, 9 grams of lotus root nodes, 9 grams of agrimony, and 6 grams of Uncaria rhynchophylla, along with vitamins C and K, calcium lactate tablets, and antenoxin. This prescription is effective in treating vitreous opacities.

(2) Combined use with wolfberry:

Cornus officinalis is sour, astringent and slightly warm in taste. It is an important medicine for replenishing kidney qi and nourishing liver yin. Wolfberry nourishes the liver and kidneys, especially good at nourishing the liver and improving eyesight. Chrysanthemum and plantain seed can both clear the liver and improve eyesight. The combination of these medicines has the effect of nourishing the kidney and liver, clearing away heat and improving eyesight. It is suitable for floaters caused by liver and kidney yin deficiency and virtual fire inflammation.

(3) Liuwei Dihuang Decoction:

Liuwei Dihuang Decoction is used for liver and kidney deficiency: 9 grams of Codonopsis pilosula, 24 grams of Rehmannia glutinosa, 9 grams of Cortex Moutan (or 9 grams of Radix Rehmanniae), 12 grams each of Ophiopogon japonicus and Dioscorea opposita, 9 grams of Alisma orientalis, 3 grams of Schisandra chinensis, 9 grams each of Poria cocos and Cornus officinalis (or 9 grams of Ligustrum lucidum). This prescription is suitable for floaters caused by liver and kidney deficiency.

(4) Guipi Decoction:

9 grams of Codonopsis pilosula, 3 grams of roasted licorice, 30 grams of stewed costusroot, 9 grams of stir-fried Atractylodes macrocephala, 12 grams of raw Astragalus, 9 grams each of longan meat, Poria cocos, and Angelica sinensis, 4 red dates, 9 grams of Ziziphus jujuba kernel, and 3 grams of tangerine peel. This prescription is suitable for floaters caused by spleen deficiency and qi deficiency.

(5) Huangqi Bajunzi Decoction:

4 qian of Astragalus, 4 qian of Lycium barbarum, 3 qian of White Ginseng, 3 qian of Ligustrum lucidum, 4 qian of Alisma orientalis, 3 qian of Cassia seed, 3 qian of Panax notoginseng, and 3 qian of Coix lacryma-jobi. This recipe is suitable for the treatment of retinal detachment.
