Early symptoms of leg tumors

Early symptoms of leg tumors

The legs are also prone to tumor diseases. When a leg tumor occurs, a variety of symptoms will appear. For example, a lump will form due to the tumor, which is often found unconsciously. If the effect is not good after certain treatment at this time, you should be vigilant, as it may be due to the tumor. In addition, tumors often cause pain, and often cause symptoms such as the tumor growing and compressing other adjacent tissues and organs.

1. Lump:

It is the most common complaint of cancer patients and is often discovered by patients accidentally. If there is no improvement after 1 to 2 weeks of anti-inflammatory treatment and the lump continues to develop, a tumor should be suspected. Masses occurring in organs deep within the body cavity are generally difficult to detect. When taking the patient's medical history, pay attention to the symptoms of compression, obstruction, or organ destruction caused by the mass described by the patient. 2. Pain:

It is a common complaint. The tumor is generally painless at first, but tumors occurring around nerve trunks may compress nearby nerves, or tumors originating from solid organs (liver cancer) and bones (osteosarcoma) may grow rapidly, causing the capsule or periosteum of the organ to expand. Rectal cancer may be rubbed by feces or the tumor may ulcerate or become infected, all of which may cause pain. When the tumor develops to the late stage and invades the nerve plexus or compresses the nerve root or causes massive bleeding or perforation, it may cause persistent pain or acute abdominal pain. If the patient complains of persistent pain in the shoulders, thighs, buttocks or spine, and treatment for more than one month is ineffective, further examination should be conducted. 3. Pathological secretions:

Tumors occurring in the mouth, nose, pharynx, digestive tract, urogenital tract, etc., if they rupture into the cavity or are complicated by infection, often have bloody, purulent, muco-bloody, or foul-smelling secretions discharged, and should be further examined.

4. Ulcers:

Patients with skin cancer often seek medical attention with ulcers as their main complaint. The edges of cancerous ulcers are raised and turned outward or cauliflower-shaped, the base of the ulcer is uneven, easy to bleed, and has a foul smell. For ulcers that do not heal for a long time, especially scar ulcers after burns, severe cervicitis, fistulas, sinus tracts, etc., they should be actively treated as precancerous lesions to avoid cancer. 5. Fever:

Patients with fever as the main complaint are often found in patients with malignant lymphoma (especially Hodgkin's disease), liver cancer, lung cancer, osteosarcoma, gastric cancer, colon cancer, kidney cancer, pancreatic cancer or advanced tumors. Fever is caused by the absorption of tumor necrosis decomposition products or concurrent infection. The cause of fever in some cancer patients is unknown. 6. Cough:

It is a common symptom in lung cancer patients, often with blood in sputum, chest pain or varying degrees of dyspnea. Tumors that invade or compress the bronchi often cause coughing. 7. Jaundice:

If the patient complains of painless progressive jaundice, the first thing to do is to be alert to the possibility of cancer of the pancreatic head and tumors in the lower common bile duct, ampulla of the bile and pancreatic duct, or duodenal papilla. At this time, the liver and gallbladder may also swell due to bile stasis.

8. Weight loss, anemia, fatigue:

It is often a late-stage symptom of a tumor. If the patient is extremely emaciated, anemic, and weak, it is called cachexia. Digestive tract tumors are most likely to cause anemia, weight loss and fatigue due to digestion and absorption disorders. Anyone over 40 years old who complains of progressive weight loss and anemia should undergo further examination to rule out gastrointestinal tumors.
