What foods are good for vertigo? These are essential

Factors such as low mood can cause vertigo. Some people think about adjusting it from this aspect, but they don’t know that diet is also very important. Spicy and irritating foods must not be eaten. A light diet should be appropriate, and too much sugar should not be consumed.

Vertigo diet principles:

1. Spicy and irritating foods are taboo. Greasy and difficult-to-digest foods will cause dampness and phlegm, and increase fire and dizziness, so a light diet is appropriate.

2. The diet should be of the type that helps maintain smooth bowel movements.

3. People with hyperactivity of Yang should choose more cold and light foods; those with phlegm and turbidity in the middle should eat foods that can eliminate phlegm and remove dampness; those with physical weakness and insufficient Qi and blood should choose more foods that replenish Qi and blood and eliminate deficiency.

4. During the acute phase, the daily salt intake should be controlled within 2g, and too much sugar should not be used.

What foods are good for vertigo?

1. Cereals, beans, and potatoes: Some patients with Meniere's disease are allergic to wheat flour, corn, peanuts, soybeans and their products. If they have been proven not to be allergic to these foods, they can generally be used. People with hyperactivity of Yang should choose mung beans and red beans to make soup or porridge, while those with weak body can use soybeans, white lentils, black beans, etc. Studies have shown that red beans, mung beans, broad beans, cowpeas, lentils, etc. are not only rich in protein and minerals, but also rich in niacin, which can dilate peripheral blood vessels and accelerate blood flow, thus helping to reduce edema. Therefore, as long as the digestive function is normal and there is no obvious abdominal distension, they can be chosen by patients with vertigo.

2. Vegetables: People with hyperactivity of yang should avoid warm vegetables such as leeks, ginger, onions, garlic, and peppers, but there are generally no taboos. Celery can clear away heat. Other vegetables such as shepherd's purse, water spinach, amaranth, eggplant, wild rice stem, cucumber, winter melon, etc. are suitable for those with hyperactivity of yang or dampness and turbidity blocking the middle; pumpkin, taro, mushroom, sweet potato, yam, etc. are suitable for patients with deficiency syndrome.

3. Fruits: People with hyperactivity of Yang should not eat warm fruits such as lychees, longans, cherries, and peaches. There are no special taboos for other fruits. Mango has certain anti-vomiting and anti-dizziness effects, and can alleviate symptoms in the acute phase.

4. Livestock, poultry, and fish: Patients with hyperactivity of Yang and dampness and turbidity in the middle should not use too much of them. However, patients with deficiency syndrome can use them appropriately as long as the fatty parts are not used and the fish are chopped and cooked thoroughly.

5. Eggs and milk: Some people are allergic to eggs and milk, so they should be used less or not in the acute phase. Chronic or deficiency patients can eat them in moderation to strengthen their constitution.

6. Tobacco, alcohol and beverages: Avoid tobacco, alcohol, coffee and black tea. Do not drink or drink less beverages containing caffeine (such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi, etc.). You can drink more green tea, or add chrysanthemum or jasmine flowers to make a drink to clear your head. The sugar content in drinks should not be too much.

7. Seasoning: The diet should be light and it is not advisable to use too many seasonings with strong odors.

Warm reminder: Use Chinese medicine's syndrome differentiation and diet therapy to adjust the dietary structure and specific eating methods of vertigo patients, so as to strengthen the physical fitness and adjust yin and yang. Reasonable dietary adjustments can alleviate the symptoms of vertigo attacks, enhance therapeutic effects, prevent recurrences, and improve patients' quality of life.
