Clotrimazole ointment is a drug that can treat vulvar itching. When vulvar itching or vaginitis occurs, this drug can also be used for treatment. We know that vulvar itching is a common female gynecological disease. There are many causes of vulvar itching, which is related to the stimulation of bacteria, and may also be caused by some systemic diseases, such as vitamin deficiency, diabetes, etc. Causes of vulvar itching include: 1. Systemic diseases: such as vitamin A and vitamin B deficiency; jaundice, leukemia and diabetes, etc., may cause local and systemic itching in severe cases. 2. Irritation caused by urine, sweat and anal secretions. 3. Vulvar varicose veins: It causes skin nutritional disorders and changes in peripheral nerve excitability, resulting in itching; repeated scratching may lead to chronic eczema, simple lichen sclerosis, pachyderma, and even develop into vulvar leukoplakia. 4. Vulvar skin diseases secondary to systemic skin diseases: such as psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, chronic eczema and lichen planus. 5. Chronic local irritation: The most common cause is excessive discharge from vaginitis. The acidity of secretions decreases, which causes changes in the bacterial flora in the vagina and makes local inflammation more likely to occur. Many people also experience thinning of the vulva skin, disappearance of subcutaneous fat, and atrophic changes that can extend to the entire vulva and anus, manifesting as wrinkled, hardened, and whitening skin, and on this basis, vulvar skin diseases may occur. These changes constantly stimulate the nerve endings in the area, causing unbearable and persistent vulvar itching, which is difficult to distinguish from skin diseases such as lichen sclerosus and vulvar leukoplakia. How to deal with vulvar itching? 1. Wear loose, breathable cotton underwear, wash, change and dry it frequently to keep the vulva clean and dry. 2. Pay attention to the cleanliness of the vulva and prepare special washing utensils, ensuring "one person, one basin, one towel, and one water". First, place a small towel in a basin of water and boil it for 15 minutes, then let it cool before use. Before washing the vulva, you should cut your nails short and clean your hands. After washing, clean and dry the utensils. 3. Do not eat spicy or irritating foods, quit smoking and limit alcohol intake. 4. Pay attention to menstrual hygiene and use qualified sanitary napkins. Avoid sexual intercourse during treatment. If necessary, both husband and wife can receive treatment at the same time. 5. Clothes, bed sheets and quilts should be used and washed separately to prevent transmission within the family, especially to protect baby girls or girls from infection. |
