How is seborrheic alopecia caused? It may be caused by excessive oil secretion.

The reason why many people suffer from seborrheic alopecia is mostly due to excessive oil secretion of the scalp. Some people are induced by serious infection or thyroid abnormalities. In addition, some immune diseases may also cause this phenomenon.

1. The patient's scalp secretes too much oil , the scalp is greasy and moist, the hair is itchy, and even accompanied by inflammation. It may be related to the body's endocrine function, mental state, genetics and certain drug factors. It usually starts from the temples, forehead or the middle of the top of the head, and then spreads to the entire top of the head. However, it rarely appears on the hair around it, and the remaining hair will become thin, soft and yellow.

2. The level of dihydrotestosterone in the patient's serum and scalp is much higher than that of normal people . Under the long-term action of dihydrotestosterone, the hair follicles on the scalp, forehead, and top of the head gradually shrink and become smaller, and the hair becomes thin, dry, and dull, and eventually the color becomes lighter and the hair decreases.

3. Severe infection, thyroid abnormalities, some immune diseases or trauma may cause this phenomenon, and even some medicines can cause hair loss.

4. Regular circular spots appear locally on the head , while the scalp at the affected area is normal, without any inflammation or subjective symptoms, and the spots can be relieved and relapsed on their own. Alopecia areata is related to immune disorder and sudden increase in mental stress.
