Why do eyelashes turn inward? It turns out this is the reason

Inverted eyelashes are a pathological phenomenon, usually caused by eye disease or facial trauma. Normally, inverted eyelashes will irritate the eyeballs and cause discomfort, so many people choose to pull out their eyelashes themselves, but new inverted eyelashes will grow again not long after.

Inverted eyelashes are caused by entropion, that is, the entire upper or lower eyelid rolls inward, and the eyelashes are also rolled into the eye and rubbed the eyeball. Since the cornea is a delicate and sensitive tissue of the human body with many nerve fibers distributed on it, people with inverted eyelashes do not feel a foreign body in their eyes at first and often rub their eyes with their hands from time to time. However, at the same time, germs may be brought into the eyes and cause eye diseases.

If there are many inverted eyelashes and limited introversion of the face, it is recommended to undergo corrective surgery. For spasmodic introverted eyelashes caused by eye inflammation, the inflammation needs to be treated. As the inflammation disappears, the introverted eyelashes will also be relieved.

Spasmodic entropion due to sagging skin in the elderly can be corrected surgically. Infants and young children have mild congenital inversion of the inner muscles. Since their eyelashes are thin and soft, it is not easy to damage the cornea. If the conjunctiva is not congested and the cornea is normal, there is no need to rush for surgery. If the child's conjunctiva is found to be congested or tearing, it should be checked in time. If the cornea is found to be damaged by trichiasis, surgery should be performed in time. Sometimes as the child grows, the root of the nose will develop fully and return to normal on its own. For children with congenital double eyelashes, if the number of inverted eyelashes is very small, only one or two, you can use cosmetic tweezers to remove them yourself. If the eyelashes grow back again and are still inverted, you can just remove them again. , double-row eyelashes with more rows require surgery to remove the extra row of eyelashes.
