What are the sequelae of brain trauma? Dizziness and headache are the most common

The sequelae of brain trauma refer to a series of symptoms that appear after our brain is damaged. Common ones include headaches, dizziness, irritability, depression, anger, and memory loss. Family members must give patients more care in time to make the patients more optimistic.

1. Headache, dizziness

Headache is the most common complaint, accounting for about 78%, with diffuse head swelling and throbbing headache as the main symptoms. It is persistent and severe, with irregular onset, mostly in the afternoon. The location is often in the frontal and temporal regions or the back of the head, sometimes involving the entire head, or a feeling of oppression on the top of the head, or a feeling of tightness in a ring, causing drowsiness and restlessness all day long. Headache located behind the head of the head is often accompanied by tension and pain in the neck muscles, and is mostly related to craniocervical injuries. Headache attacks may be aggravated by insomnia, fatigue, bad mood, bad work or the noise of the outside world.

Dizziness is also common, accounting for about 50%. Patients often report feeling dizzy, but in fact, it is not true vertigo, but a subjective feeling of cloudiness in the head, unclear thinking, or a feeling of confusion. Sometimes they think that the body cannot maintain balance, which is often aggravated by turning the head or changing body position. However, neurological examination does not show clear vestibular dysfunction or ataxia. After appropriate symptomatic treatment and comfort and encouragement, the symptoms can be alleviated or disappear, but they will reappear soon.

2. Hysterical reactions: The patient's mood often fluctuates, he is easily irritable and angry, sometimes he may have muscle spasms, decreased vision, decreased hearing, closed eyes and silence, involuntary crying and laughing, and even hysterical paralysis. In severe cases, he may be in a state of stupor or mutism.

3. Neurological examination : There are usually no definite positive signs.
