How to treat sinusitis in traditional Chinese medicine

How to treat sinusitis in traditional Chinese medicine

Traditional Chinese medicine is a more popular method for treating sinusitis because it can reduce side effects compared to long-term medication. You can use salt water to wash your nose, or use garlic for treatment. If the situation is serious, you should also pay attention to hospital treatment.

1. Use saline nasal wash to treat rhinitis

Prepare saline solution (put two spoons of salt in a 100 ml bottle, dilute with boiling water), use a cotton ball wrapped with a toothpick and dipped in the saline solution to wash the nostrils, then leave the cotton wool in the nostrils temporarily. At this time, either tilt your head back or lie flat, press both sides of the nose with your index finger and thumb, and suck hard to allow the saline solution on the cotton ball to flow into the nasal cavity and then into the throat. At first you may feel an unbearable pungent sensation inside your nose, but you will get used to it after a few times. You can also start by washing with lighter saline and gradually increase the concentration to allow your nasal cavity to adapt slowly. I insisted on washing my nose once in the morning and once in the evening. After more than a month, my nasal cavity was unobstructed, my sense of smell was sensitive, and my rhinitis that had lasted for many years was cured.

2. Sophora japonica honey can cure atrophic rhinitis

A colleague was diagnosed with atrophic rhinitis, and she developed a treatment method of her own which was very effective. When washing your face every morning and evening, use your little finger to dip in running tap water to clean your nostrils to remove scabs and secretions in the nasal cavity. After fully exposing the nasal mucosa, use a cotton swab or finger to dip in commercially available locust flower honey and evenly apply it to the affected area of the nasal cavity. She persisted in her own treatment for more than two months, and her nasal cavity no longer felt painful or itchy, there was no hernia-like secretion, and her sense of smell had basically returned to normal.

3. Garlic cures rhinitis

I suffer from rhinitis and have been treated for many years with no apparent effect. Sometimes it gets better, sometimes it gets worse. The patient was cured with a prescription introduced by a Chinese medicine doctor, and was later introduced to many people, all of whom showed obvious effects. Mash a clove of garlic, wrap it in a clean bean curd cloth, squeeze out the garlic juice and drop two drops into each nostril (it will be very painful at the time). Then press the nose flap a few times with your hands so that the garlic juice can stick to your nostrils. Mild cases can be cured after one time, and severe cases can be cured after two times (Editor's note: Garlic is highly irritating, please start with a small amount; it is forbidden for those who are allergic to garlic).

4. Cold water to treat rhinitis

In 1975 I had a severe case of sinusitis. Using a bottle of nasal drops every two days is not enough. As soon as you stop taking the medicine, your nostrils will become blocked immediately. It cannot be cured for a long time. At this time, a doctor named Zhang said a folk remedy: Don't use hot water to wash your face, use cold water. Use the palm of your hand to hold cold water from the tap, cover your nose with it, inhale the cold water into your nostrils, and then blow it out, then hold water again and inhale it, then blow it out again. Repeat this several times and do it every day. I used this cold water therapy for 10 days and my sinusitis was cured. Over the past 20 years, I have never stopped using cold water therapy, and my sinusitis has not recurred.
