Why does sneezing have a bad smell? Find out the six reasons

Bad smells do not come out of nowhere. The bad smell produced by sneezing is the accumulation of garbage in the nose. Over time, as bacteria grow, a foul smell will occur. Sometimes you can't feel it yourself, but others can, and it actually exists.

Sources of bad odor include:

1. Foreign bodies in the nasal cavity : more common in children. Because foreign bodies enter the nasal cavity and cannot be discharged, and they cannot inform adults in time, over time, the foreign bodies remain in the nasal cavity and cause inflammation of the mucosa, mostly unilateral nasal obstruction, with purulent and smelly nasal discharge.

2. Atrophic rhinitis : It is more common in young people because most people with this disease have impaired sense of smell. They cannot smell any odors, but others cannot tolerate the stench and often stay away from them. Some patients with severe malodor can smell the odor from a long distance, so it is called odor nose syndrome.

3. Malignant tumors: more common in middle-aged and elderly people. In addition to a bad nasal smell, it is often accompanied by symptoms such as spontaneous bleeding and headache. Therefore, if middle-aged and elderly people have only bad nasal odor or frequent nose bleeding for no obvious reason, they should seek medical examination and treatment in time.

4. Osteomyelitis: frontal bone osteomyelitis, ethmoid sinusitis. In children with maxillary osteomyelitis, pus may flow out with a foul odor, which may be mistaken for the odor of the nasal cavity.

5. Cheesy rhinitis: The nasal cavity or sinuses are filled with tofu-like dirt, which destroys bones and produces a foul odor. treat.

6. When the sinuses are inflamed, the purulent secretions often have a fishy smell; especially in odontogenic maxillary sinusitis, the secretions often have a foul smell that only the patient can smell.
