This disease is caused by the deficiency of liver and kidney yin, and the decline of vital energy and blood. Deficiency of liver and kidney yin will cause low back pain, dizziness, and night sweats. Deficiency of qi will cause insufficient air for breathing, shortness of breath when moving, poor appetite, spontaneous sweating, and fatigue. Low blood levels will cause palpitations, pale lips and face, and a thin pulse. This is because of liver and kidney deficiency, which leads to blood deficiency. The treatment is mainly based on tonifying the kidney, so a large amount of raw rehmannia, Polygonum multiflorum, Cornus officinalis, yam, wolfberry, and donkey-hide gelatin are used to produce blood and nourish the liver, and astragalus, white atractylodes, jujube, and licorice are used to benefit the spleen, using the essence of grain water to assist qi. Blood is produced by Qi, and Qi is nourished by blood, so it is effective.
