Traditional Chinese medicine treats arrhythmia, combining treatment and prevention

Arrhythmia is the most common type of cardiovascular disease. If it persists, it will affect the heart and lead to heart failure. Therefore, treatment is very important for both the mother and the pregnant woman. Treatment can be carried out using the method of Chinese medicine differentiation and treatment, and daily life should be regular.

(I) Treatment based on syndrome differentiation:

1. Syndrome of guilty conscience and timidity: Feeling of palpitations and restlessness, timidity and easy to be frightened, insomnia and dreaminess, easy sadness and crying, dizziness, forgetfulness, fatigue, pale red tongue, weak and intermittent pulse. Nourish the heart and calm the mind. Pingbu Zhenxin Dan or Anshen Dingzhi Wan with modifications.

2. Deficiency of both heart qi and yin: The patient feels palpitations, restlessness, shortness of breath, fatigue, dizziness, irritability, insomnia, sweating, chest tightness or heart pain, and a thin, weak and rapid or intermittent pulse. Replenish heart qi and nourish heart yin. Modifications of Zhigancao Decoction.

3. Deficiency of Heart Yang: Symptoms include palpitations, restlessness, dizziness, chest tightness, fatigue and shortness of breath, fear of cold and cold limbs, pale complexion, or purple lips, or edema of lower limbs, or heart pain, pale tongue, white and slippery tongue coating, weak and rapid pulse, or knotted or intermittent pulse. Warming and nourishing heart yang. Guizhi Gancao Longgu Muli Decoction with added ingredients.

4. Cardiac vessel stasis syndrome: The patient feels palpitations and restlessness, chest tightness, or stabbing heart pain, or the tongue is dark or has ecchymosis, and the pulse is stringy and wiry with knots. Dissolve blood stasis and soothe the mind. Peach kernel and safflower decoction with modifications.

5. Phlegm-heat disturbing the heart syndrome: Feeling of palpitations, restlessness, insomnia, fever, thirst without desire to drink, coughing up yellow phlegm, red tongue, yellow and greasy tongue coating, slippery and rapid or intermittent pulse. Clear the heart and resolve phlegm, with modifications of Huanglian Wendan Decoction.

6. Syndrome of deficiency of both heart and spleen: Feeling of palpitations and restlessness, fatigue, dizziness, forgetfulness, poor appetite and loose stools, pale or sallow complexion, pale and tender tongue, and weak and intermittent pulse. Nourishes the heart and spleen (qi and blood). Guipi Decoction with modifications.

7. Heart heat and Yin deficiency syndrome: Feelings of palpitations and restlessness, irritability and insomnia, dizziness, bitter taste in the mouth and dry throat, yellow urine and hard stools, red tip of tongue with little coating, thin and rapid or intermittent pulse, clear the heart and nourish Yin. Huanglian donkey-hide gelatin soup with jujube seeds, raw rehmannia, etc.

2. Preventive Care

1. Live a regular life and daily routine, avoid overwork, mental stress, staying up late, etc. Do proper physical exercise and maintain a standard weight.

2. Maintain a good mood, avoid being emotionally excited, cultivate a wide range of interests, find fun for yourself, adjust your emotions frequently, and always keep yourself in a good mood.

3. Actively prevent and treat underlying diseases that cause arrhythmias, control various risk factors for the disease, such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, etc., control and prevent rheumatic activities, ban smoking and limit alcohol, avoid cold and bacterial infection, etc.

4. If clinical symptoms of arrhythmia are found, active treatment should be sought under the guidance of medical personnel to prevent delaying the disease and causing serious consequences and irreversible complications.
