Is there any relationship between low back pain and kidneys? There are actually these reasons.

The doctor will sort out the problem based on the patient's symptoms and physical examination, and most low back pain has nothing to do with the kidneys. Even if the low back pain is caused by kidney disease, there is usually no change in kidney function. On the contrary, abnormal kidney function itself is usually not accompanied by low back pain symptoms. Therefore, it is unreasonable to associate low back pain with kidney problems and request a blood test to test kidney function.

1. Is there any relationship between low back pain and kidneys?

When doctors encounter low back pain, they will first distinguish whether it is a renal or non-renal problem based on the following key points:

If urination is painful or you have a fever, you should first consider the problem of pyelonephritis or kidney stones. It can be distinguished by routine urine examination.

Non-renal low back pain is often triggered by a certain posture or movement. Renal low back pain has nothing to do with posture or movement.

If there is pain when tapping, it is more likely to be a renal problem, otherwise it may be non-renal low back pain.

2. What causes low back pain?

There are many causes of low back pain, about dozens of them. The more common ones include kidney deficiency, lumbar bone hyperplasia, bone spurs, intervertebral disc herniation, lumbar hypertrophy, spinal stenosis, lumbar fracture, spinal canal tumor, acute and chronic lumbar trauma or strain, lumbar muscle strain, ankylosing spondylitis, etc.

The lower back is the part of the human body that exerts the most force, providing support for the body and protecting the spine. For people who sit in the office for a long time and lack exercise, or people who need to stand for a long time because of work, maintaining a body position or posture for too long can easily cause lower back pain and induce chronic lumbar compartment syndrome. Some people also develop the disease after repeated injuries. Many patients with chronic low back pain are related to chronic compartment syndrome. The reason may be that the increased pressure within the compartment leads to the disappearance of the space under the lumbar fascia, decreased muscle blood flow, and degeneration of loose adipose tissue. Due to this damage, the patient will experience back pain no matter how much he walks, sits or lies down, that is, maintaining a posture for a long time can easily cause back pain.
