Whole body shaking can be caused by both physiological and pathological reasons. Physiological shaking is generally of smaller amplitude and faster speed. Excessive fatigue and adverse psychological stimulation may cause such phenomenon. Of course, we must be alert to shaking caused by disease, which is called essential tremor in medicine. It mainly refers to involuntary shaking of the body that is not controlled by the brain. Tremors are divided into physiological tremors and pathological tremors. 1. Physiological tremor has a small amplitude and fast speed, and often occurs when you are stationary. It is a small, fast, irregular tremor. Physiological tremors often occur when there is mental tension, fear, emotional excitement, severe pain, and extreme fatigue. Once the above causes of the tremors are eliminated, the tremors will disappear. 2. Pathological tremor, medically known as "essential tremor", refers to involuntary tremors of the limbs, which are often permanent. There are two main types of jitter: static jitter and dynamic jitter. Among them, static tremor is the tremor that occurs when the muscles are completely relaxed, that is, in a quiet state. This type of shaking disappears during sleep, with a speed of 4-6 times per second, which is relatively regular. It is a typical disease such as Parkinson's syndrome. Motion jitter is a jitter that occurs only during exercise and becomes more severe as the movement approaches the target. For example, when a doctor performs the finger-to-nose test on a patient, he asks the patient to straighten his forearm and then point his index finger at the tip of his nose. The closer the tip of the index finger is to the tip of the nose, the more obvious the hand tremor will be. Motor tremors are irregular, with large amplitudes, and are aggravated by emotions. They are common in lesions of the cranial nerves and upper limb nerves. Cause classification Common diseases that cause pathological tremors clinically include: neurological diseases and injuries, brain tissue diseases and drug-induced tremors. Shaking is a common phenomenon among the elderly. The whole body or part of the body (hands) keeps shaking, which seriously affects eating and writing, causing great distress to the elderly. Medically, this shaking is called tremor. Although tremors appear as shaking hands, the root cause is mostly in the brain. Due to certain diseases, the area of the brain responsible for motor coordination is damaged, causing tremors. Clinically, Parkinson's disease, cerebral arteriosclerosis, midbrain or cerebellar lesions, hepatic encephalopathy, drug poisoning, dementia, etc. may all cause tremors in the elderly. Medical research has found that eating broad beans and coffee can effectively control tremors. Family members can appropriately feed the elderly more of these two foods. If pathological factors are excluded, another common cause of tremor is psychological factors. |
