What is H-type hypertension?

Many people do not know about type H hypertension. In fact, the occurrence of these problems is also harmful to health. Moreover, most of the people with hypertension now have type H hypertension. These diseases are closely related to genetic factors, environment and lifestyle habits.

1. Among hypertension, primary hypertension accompanied by elevated plasma homocysteine (Hcy) is type H hypertension. The usual standard is that hcy ≥ 10umol/L is considered elevated.

2. Homocysteine (Hcy) is a sulfur-containing amino acid produced during methionine metabolism and is one of the main risk factors for atherosclerosis. It is a harmful "bad" amino acid. It exists naturally in the blood, but under ideal conditions, the Hcy content in human blood is very low, generally <5umol/L, the lower the better. In fact, when the plasma Hcy level reaches 6.3umol/L, it has entered the high-risk zone for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events. When the plasma Hcy reaches 10umol/L, the incidence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events increases significantly.

3. The concept of H-type hypertension is of great significance to the prevention and treatment of hypertension in China, because most of the hypertension in China is H-type hypertension, which is related to many factors such as our race, genetic genes, environment, and lifestyle habits. First, the carrier rate of TT genotype in the Chinese population is high, about 25%, which is significantly higher than that in Western countries (TT genotype patients have low plasma folate levels, resulting in high Hcy levels). Secondly, my country's dietary habits are to consume less food rich in folic acid. The low folate rate in the Chinese population is at least over 60%, while in the United States it is only 0.6%. This directly leads to the fact that the incidence of type H hypertension in my country is significantly higher than that in Western countries.

4. Prevention and treatment of H-type hypertension is the top priority in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases . To this end, our country has also launched a major national "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" project - a comparative effect study on H-type hypertension. ..
