Autism symptoms

Autism is one of the more common diseases among adolescents and children, and the incidence of this type of disease is mainly male children, and it often occurs in male children's infancy. In addition, the symptoms of autism in children are very obvious, mainly including varying degrees of speech development disorders and even interpersonal communication disorders, etc. In short, they have a great impact on the intellectual development of children.

Experts tell us that there are many causes of autism in children. In addition to congenital genetic reasons, it is also related to perinatal complications, immune system abnormalities and other factors. Below is a detailed introduction to the symptoms of autism.

Causes

1. Genetics: The role of genetic factors in autism has become clear, but the specific mode of inheritance is still unclear.

2. Perinatal factors: Various perinatal complications, such as birth trauma and intrauterine asphyxia, are more common than in the normal control group.

3. Immune system abnormalities: decreased number of T lymphocytes, decreased number of helper T cells and B cells, deficiency of inhibitory-inducing T cells, decreased activity of natural killer cells, etc.

4. Neuroendocrine and neurotransmitters: related to various neuroendocrine and neurotransmitter dysfunctions.

Autism symptoms

1. Language barriers: Language and communication barriers are important symptoms of autism. Language and communication disorders can manifest in many forms. Most children with autism have delayed or impaired language development. They usually still cannot speak at the ages of two or three, or they experience language regression after normal language development. They have expressive language before the age of 2 to 3, which gradually decreases with age or is even lost completely.

2. Social interaction disorder: The patient cannot establish normal interpersonal relationships with others. When they are young, they do not make eye contact with others, have a dull expression, lack the expression or gesture of expecting hugs and caresses from their parents or others, and have no happy expression when enjoying caresses, and even reject hugs and caresses from their parents and others. He cannot distinguish between close and distant relationships and treats his relatives with the same attitude as he treats other people.

3. Narrow interest range and stereotyped behavior patterns: Patients are not interested in games and toys that normal children are keen on, but prefer to play with non-toy objects. They are not interested in the main features of toys, but are very concerned about non-main features. If certain activities are stopped or behavior patterns are changed, the patient will express obvious unhappiness and anxiety, and even show rebellious behavior.

4. Intellectual disability: Among autistic children, the intelligence level is very inconsistent. A few patients are within the normal range, while most patients show varying degrees of intellectual disability.

Regarding the symptoms of autism, experts tell us that language and communication disorders are one of the primary symptoms of autism. As they grow older, some children will show complete loss of language. In addition, many children with the disease are unable to establish normal interpersonal relationships with others, and the quality of their interpersonal relationships is relatively poor. In short, childhood autism needs to be intervened and treated through psychological means.
