Unclear double eyelids, or double eyelids that are too shallow, are quite common in life. For such people, their double eyelids are particularly obvious when they just wake up, but after washing their face or after 1 to 2 hours, their double eyelids are not particularly obvious. This situation can be improved through certain methods, such as makeup, surgical treatment, or the use of double eyelid stickers. What to do if double eyelids are not obvious Ptosis correction surgery uses surgery to correct the levator palpebrae superioris muscles and the nerves they control that are unable to function normally to varying degrees, in order to restore the function of lifting the upper eyelid and correct the drooping upper eyelid. 1. Moderate to mild ptosis can be improved by shortening the levator palpebrae superioris muscle. The surgery adjusts the internal eye muscle function through double eyelid incisions to improve the eye opening function, forming beautiful and lively double eyelids after the surgery. 2. For severe ptosis, the frontalis muscle flap insertion point is lowered for correction. Through surgery, the frontal muscles are used to replace the eye muscles, restore the eye opening function, and improve the symptoms of being unable to open the eyes. The ptosis correction surgery corrects the eye muscle function through double eyelid incisions. While forming double eyelids after the surgery, it will also effectively improve the original difficulty in opening the eyes, effectively making the eyes larger and more lively. Causes of ptosis 1. The lifting function of the levator palpebrae superioris is reduced. 2. The motor nerve function that controls the levator palpebrae superioris muscle is damaged. 3. Relaxation of the levator palpebrae superioris aponeurosis. The severity of ptosis is determined by how much the lower edge of the upper eyelid covers the pupil. There are three levels of ptosis: Mild: The upper eyelid moves down 2 mm or less, or the upper eyelid covers the upper part of the pupil. Moderate: The upper eyelid moves down about 3mm, or the upper eyelid covers the pupil Severe: The upper eyelid moves down 4 mm or more, or the upper eyelid covers more than 1/2 of the pupil. Ptosis refers to the inability of the upper eyelid to be fully lifted when the patient looks straight ahead due to weakened or lost function of the upper eyelid levator muscle, resulting in the eyelid edge covering part or all of the pupil. Ptosis is very common and may cause the eyes to look dull, regardless of eye size. Some people may look dull even if they have big eyes but have ptosis. Long term effort to keep the eyes open can easily lead to deepening of forehead wrinkles and in severe cases even uneven eyebrows. |
