What are the effects, functions and contraindications of processed Polygala

Polygala tenuifolia is a commonly used Chinese medicine, which may be relatively unfamiliar to everyone. Effects and functions of Polygala: Polygala is the root of Polygala tenuifolia and Polygala siberica, plants of the Polygalaceae family. Polygala has the effects of calming the mind, removing phlegm and invigorating the orifices, detoxifying and reducing swelling. Polygala is mainly used to treat restlessness, palpitations and insomnia, forgetfulness, epilepsy, cough with excessive sputum, carbuncle on the back, and swollen and painful breasts.

Contraindications of Polygala:

1. People with fire in the heart and kidneys, as well as yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity should avoid taking Polygala tenuifolia.
