How are ovarian papilloma treated?

Ovarian papilloma actually causes a lot of harm to women, so for any female friend, when the body is confirmed to be affected by these diseases, it is important to understand effective treatment methods. Laser, electrocautery and microwave therapy are often used.

(1) Laser and electrocautery therapy: Suitable for most clinical situations, with accurate positioning and little damage to surrounding normal tissues. Disadvantages: The depth of treatment requires skilled operators to control, deep wounds heal slowly, especially in the external genitalia. Wounds are prone to bleeding and infection, and smoke is likely to cause air pollution and iatrogenic infection, so strict personal protection is required. Therefore, it is not suitable for warts that are close to each other, very large in number, or huge warts.

(2): Microwave therapy: It is also suitable for most clinical situations. It has accurate positioning, little damage to surrounding normal tissues, no bleeding and low recurrence rate, no smoke, and no air pollution. Disadvantages: The treatment depth needs to be controlled by a skilled operator, and the wound needs to be prevented from infection. It is not suitable for large warts.

(3) Cryosurgery: Suitable for single, small, flat lesions. Disadvantages: prone to recurrence and sometimes autologous implants around the lesions.

(4) Photodynamic therapy: It is more suitable for thin and tender mucous membranes and skin tissues such as the urethral orifice, vaginal wall, and vulva. Its advantages are safety, effectiveness, low recurrence rate (subclinical infection can be eliminated), no pain or mild pain, and good patient tolerance.

(5) Drug therapy: Podophyllum resin and other drugs are corrosive to a certain extent, and the surrounding normal tissues need to be protected, otherwise it is easy to form implants in the surrounding normal tissues. Not suitable for application on mucosal warts. Genital warts are difficult to identify, so patients should not take medication on their own.

Imiquimod cream is an external immunomodulator. Its advantages are that it is not very corrosive and patients can use it by themselves, which is convenient. Its disadvantages are that it needs to be used for at least 4-16 weeks, which is too time-consuming, has a certain degree of irritation, and can also cause shallow erosions on the skin. It is not recommended to rely on this drug alone for the treatment of large warts.
