Indications and contraindications for paracentesis

Many medical treatments can only treat corresponding diseases, especially some professional techniques. Many women are familiar with laparoscopic technology because this medical technology is generally used in the treatment of female diseases, such as uterine diseases, ectopic pregnancy, and fallopian tube sterilization, etc. These problems can be well solved through laparoscopic technology. Let’s learn about the indications and contraindications of abdominal puncture.

1. Indications for laparoscopic surgery

In fact, laparoscopic technology has become an indispensable means of examination and treatment for female infertility. In addition, laparoscopic surgery can also treat the following diseases:

1. Various types of ectopic pregnancy and fallopian tube sterilization;

2. Infertility, uterine perforation and sterilization ring;

3. Ovarian cysts, tumors, ovarian corpus luteum rupture, polycystic ovary syndrome;

4. Endometriosis, adenomyosis, ovarian chocolate cyst;

5. Uterine fibroids, uterine prolapse, and dysfunctional uterine bleeding;

6. Pelvic inflammatory disease and pelvic abscess;

7. Preoperative diagnosis of chronic pelvic pain of unknown etiology, tumors of unknown nature, and ovarian tissue biopsy.

Contraindications of laparoscopic surgery

Severe heart, lung, liver, and kidney dysfunction.

Huge pelvic and abdominal masses: When the upper limit of the mass exceeds the level of the umbilicus or the gestational uterus is greater than 16 weeks of gestation, and the volume of uterine fibroids exceeds 4 months of gestation, the space available for surgical operations in the pelvis and abdomen is limited, the mass obstructs the field of vision, and establishing pneumoperitoneum or puncture may cause the mass to rupture.

Abdominal hernia or diaphragmatic hernia: The pressure of artificial pneumoperitoneum can push the contents of the abdominal cavity into the hernial orifice, causing incarceration of the abdominal hernia. Abdominal contents enter the chest cavity through diaphragmatic hernia and may affect heart and lung function.

Diffuse peritonitis with intestinal obstruction: Due to the obvious dilation of the intestinal segment, there is a risk of intestinal perforation during puncture with a pneumoperitoneum needle or trocar.

Inexperienced surgeons.

Severe pelvic adhesions: Multiple surgeries such as intestinal surgery and multiple myomectomy can cause dense and extensive adhesions around important organs or tissues, such as adhesions of the ureters and intestinal flexures, which can cause damage to important organs or tissues during the process of separating the adhesions.

Advantages of laparoscopic surgery

1. Multi-angle "inspection" with intuitive effect: Laparoscopy can be used to inspect from different angles and directions without affecting the auxiliary organs, and even to see some very deep locations, achieving the effect of intuitive inspection without missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis.

2. Quick recovery: Laparoscopic surgery is performed in a closed pelvis and abdominal cavity, with little disturbance to the internal environment. The trauma suffered by the patient is far less than that of open surgery, and the patient recovers quickly after the operation without any complications or sequelae.

3. Short hospitalization time: The operation is performed by professional physicians and the treatment can be completed in a short time without affecting normal physiological functions. The patient can resume normal work and life after the operation.

4. Good abdominal cosmetic effect: Traditional surgical scars are long and linear, while laparoscopic surgery leaves no scars, which is suitable for women's cosmetic needs.

5. Reduce the burden on patients: The surgery is minimally invasive, requires less medication, has low cost, quick recovery, and does not require hospitalization, thus reducing the burden on patients.
