What vitamins are lacking in insomnia?

Under normal circumstances, people should maintain adequate sleep, but if you find that you lack sleep or your sleep is not normal, then you may suffer from insomnia. Generally, insomnia is caused by a lack of B vitamins or calcium, so you should pay attention to control and deal with it reasonably in normal times.

1. Calcium deficiency. Babies who are calcium deficient are easily startled at night and like to cry during the day. Adults who are calcium deficient also have difficulty falling asleep at night and are prone to leg cramps when they fall asleep. Because the conduction of signals within human cells, the release of neurotransmitters and muscle contraction all require the participation of calcium ions, when calcium is deficient, these functions will be inhibited, the nerves and muscles will be in an excited state and cause insomnia. Therefore, you should pay attention to calcium-rich foods such as milk, soy products, green leafy vegetables, nuts, etc., especially at dinner time for better supplementation.

2. Lack of B vitamins. As people's living standards have improved, they consume less B vitamins in their diet because the amount of whole grains and green leafy vegetables is seriously insufficient, and they are replaced by refined rice, white flour and animal foods. The modern lifestyle has increased the consumption of B vitamins. B vitamins are a class of vitamins that are closely related to the health of the nervous system, especially vitamin B1, vitamin B6, folic acid, vitamin B12, etc., which have obvious effects on calming nerves and improving mood. In daily life, you should focus on the intake of whole grains, nuts, beans, green leafy vegetables, bananas, and lean meat. It is also okay to eat some offal in small amounts.

3. The wrong types of staple foods are consumed or the quantity is insufficient. We all have this experience: we tend to feel sleepy after eating a big meal. The main reason is that blood sugar levels rise after a meal, insulin is released, and the synthesis of serotonin in the body is promoted. It is a neurotransmitter that makes people feel happy and calms the nerves and helps sleep. This is why many people improve their mood by eating sweets. But eating sweets is not the best solution, because the fluctuating blood sugar levels are more likely to cause mood swings and make you gain weight. Instead, you should consume more slowly digestible staple foods to maintain stable blood sugar levels and slow release of insulin for a long time, such as whole grains, potatoes, and starchy beans.
