What is the best way to treat Parkinson's disease?

Many people think that Parkinson's disease is an incurable disease. In fact, with the current development of science, we have developed good methods to relieve pain and delay the progression of the disease for Parkinson's patients. Usually, they are mainly treated with medication and surgery, and the treatment effect can be achieved through personal assistance.

Treatment strategy

Treatment is mainly symptomatic, alleviating pain, delaying disease progression, and improving the patient's quality of life.

Drug treatment

Drugs for the treatment of Parkinson's disease include compound levodopa preparations, dopamine receptor agonists, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, anticholinesterase preparations and amantadine. Commonly used drugs include benzhexol hydrochloride, amantadine, selegiline, pramipexole hydrochloride, entacapone, carbendazim controlled-release tablets, dopamine tablets, and tolcapone.

Surgery

There are two main surgical methods: nucleus ablation and deep brain stimulation (DBS). Common targets for nucleotomy are the ventral intermediate nucleus of the thalamus (Vim) and the ventral posterior part of the globus pallidus (PVP).

Prognosis

Symptoms of early-stage patients can often be well controlled through drug treatment. Although drugs still have a certain effect in the middle stage of the disease, the appearance of movement complications often leads to a decline in quality of life. In the late stages of the disease, patients respond poorly to drugs and symptoms cannot be controlled. Patients may become stiff all over, unable to take care of themselves, or even bedridden for a long time, and ultimately die from complications such as pneumonia.
