So, how to treat and overcome anxiety among high school students?

Steps/Methods

Relaxation training: Sit relaxed with your feet on the ground, shoulder-width apart. Clear your mind of distractions, concentrate your thoughts, and use suggestion to give yourself the command to relax, starting from the head, to the neck, chest, abdomen, hands, and finally to the feet. Do this once a day for about ten minutes each time. The key point is to be tense first and then relax.

Deep breathing method: When anxiety arises, first close your eyes, slowly inhale through your nose, and exhale through your mouth and nose. Repeat three to five times to relieve anxiety and tension.

Self-suggestion: When you feel anxious and nervous during an exam, secretly give yourself positive suggestions like "I can do it, come on", "It's okay, I can do it", "I will definitely do well in the exam", etc. It can relieve negative emotions to a certain extent.

If the candidate's anxiety symptoms are already very serious, it is recommended to go to the psychological counseling room for formal treatment. Systematic desensitization therapy can be used: if the anxiety or terror caused by a stimulus is within the range that the patient can tolerate, after repeated presentations, he will no longer feel anxious and terrified about the stimulus, and the treatment goal can be achieved. Arrange the candidates' anxiety objects from small to large, and the patient can experience them one by one through imagination (the counselor will provide guidance) until the symptoms are relieved.
