What should I do if I have lumbar soft tissue injury and what should I pay attention to?

Soft tissue refers to the subcutaneous tissue, which is also very vulnerable to injury and requires special care. The symptoms of lumbar soft tissue injury are very obvious, and patients mainly have pain symptoms. Patients with lumbar soft tissue injury should mainly rest in bed and should not get out of bed for activities. It is better to combine it with conservative treatment.

1. During the acute phase of lumbar soft tissue injury, it is important to stay in bed. Resting in bed can calm the swelling of soft tissue and blood circulation caused by the injury, and relieve spasmodic and tense muscles in a short period of time. Soft tissue swelling and hemorrhage are important manifestations of acute injury. They can be relieved in a short period of time by oral and external use of Chinese medicine and in combination with other therapies to prevent hematoma organization and muscle fiber tissue degeneration, which may lead to adhesion and chronic injury.

2. Massage has obvious therapeutic effect on soft tissue injuries of the waist. In acute injuries, the role of manipulation is to relieve muscle spasms and straighten the tendons. The focus is on using kneading, pointing, pushing, flexion and rolling, and rocking methods to adjust and recover the injury. In chronic injuries, the thickening, adhesions and fibrous cord-like tendons formed by muscles, fascia and ligaments should be treated based on dredging the meridians and regulating qi and blood, with the emphasis on separating adhesions, dissipating tendon knots and improving the elasticity of muscle fiber tissue. In addition to kneading, pressing, and pushing as basic techniques, the focus is on using stretching techniques.

3. Functional exercise should be scientific and reasonable. Gentle exercise should be performed at the beginning to avoid further damage caused by strenuous activities. After muscle elasticity and strength have improved, gradually increase the intensity of exercise. Functional exercise requires perseverance and not rushing for quick results. As long as scientific, reasonable and appropriate principles are followed, good tissue physiological recovery will be achieved.
