How to take isotretinoin soft capsules

Pimples on the face, which we often call acne, are self-healing. The appearance of acne has a great impact on our appearance. Although it can heal on its own, some cases are difficult to recover and require medication. In this regard, isotretinoin soft capsules have a very good effect, but correct medication must be ensured. So, how to take isotretinoin soft capsules? Let’s take a look at the specific ways to eat it.

People usually take medicine before meals , but isotretinoin soft capsules are taken after meals. Taking it after meals can continuously increase the bioavailability as the digestive system functions with meals. At the same time, different medication methods can be adopted according to the patient's weight: those weighing more than or equal to 50 kg, take 3 times a day in the first month, 1 tablet each time; after two months, the dosage can be reduced to 2 times a day, 1 tablet each time, in order to maintain the therapeutic effect. 6 to 8 weeks is a course of treatment.

There are also some special points to note when taking isotretinoin soft capsules:

1: Remember not to take it together with vitamin A, as there will be conflicts between the drugs.

2: Pregnant women must do a pregnancy test before taking the medicine or when stopping the medicine.

3. Do not stay in the sun for too long after taking the medicine to prevent worsening of skin conditions.

4: It can be taken together with medicines of the same nature to achieve a complementary effect.

5. Patients with diabetes, obesity, alcoholism, etc. should take the medicine under the guidance of a doctor.

Isotretinoin soft capsules are indicated for the treatment of severe and refractory nodular acne (nodular acne, i.e., inflammatory lesions with a diameter > 5rmn, and the nodules may become purulent or bleed). Because isotretinoin has significant adverse reactions, it should only be considered when other conventional treatments (including systemic antibiotic therapy) are ineffective. In addition, because isotretinoin may cause serious birth defects, it is only suitable for female patients who are not prepared or unable to become pregnant.

Acne is a chronic inflammatory skin disease of the sebaceous glands of the hair follicles caused by multiple factors. The root cause is endocrine disorders, caused by excessive secretion of male hormones. In addition, spicy food stimulation and oily skin can also cause it. Treatment recommendations include oral antibiotics such as clindamycin and metronidazole, and topical vitamin E ointment.
