What is the principle of tumor biotherapy?

Tumor biotherapy is a common treatment method. It can better play the role of clearing bacteria, viruses and foreign bodies, and can help stimulate and enhance the body's anti-tumor immunity, thereby achieving the effect of clearing and treating cancer.

1. The immune system is the body's defense system. On the one hand, it plays the role of eliminating bacteria, viruses, and foreign matter; on the other hand, it eliminates aging cells and mutated cells in the body (some mutated cells will become cancer cells). The outcome of the interaction between the body's immune system and cancer cells determines the ultimate evolution of cancer. Cancer immunotherapy uses molecular biology technology and cell engineering technology to improve the immunogenicity of cancer, supplement the body with a sufficient number of functional immune cells and related molecules, stimulate and enhance the body's anti-tumor immune response, increase the sensitivity of cancer to the body's anti-cancer immune effects, and induce cancer-specific and non-specific effector cells and molecules in vivo and in vitro to achieve the ultimate goal of eliminating cancer.

Cancer biological therapy does not kill all cancer cells, but when the cancer cell load is significantly reduced and the body's immune function is restored, it achieves the purpose of treating cancer by clearing tiny residual lesions or significantly inhibiting the proliferation of residual cancer cells. Cancer immunotherapy mobilizes the body's own immune system to kill cancer cells and inhibit their proliferation through human intervention.

3. Both experiments and clinical trials have shown that the body's immune system has the function of clearing cancer. After surgical resection of the primary cancer or ablation of local cancer through minimally invasive surgery such as argon-fluorine knife, immunotherapy can kill remaining cancer cells, eliminate factors of recurrence and metastasis, increase the possibility of cure, prolong survival time, and improve quality of life.

4. Currently, cancer biological therapy is regarded as the fourth treatment method after surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Biological therapy includes cytokine therapy, immune cell therapy, gene therapy, molecular targeted therapy and antibody therapy.
