What to do about herpes zoster nerve pain?

Shingles is a disease caused by a viral infection. Generally, patients will have some small blisters on their skin, and may even have symptoms of chickenpox, so it is inviolable. We all need to pay attention to it in normal times. Generally speaking, after getting shingles, we should pay attention to improving our immunity. If nerve pain is caused, we should pay attention to treatment.

Herpes zoster is caused by the varicella-zoster virus, which usually lies dormant in the dorsal root neurons of the spinal cord. However, if the body's resistance is low or if you are tired, infected, have a cold, have a fever, or are angry, the virus can grow and multiply again and move along the nerve fibers to the skin, causing severe inflammation of the invaded nerves and skin. The rash is generally unilateral and distributed according to nerve segments, composed of clustered herpes and accompanied by pain; the older the age, the more severe the neuralgia. As long as patients with shingles receive active treatment and quickly eliminate the virus in the body and the virus transmitted to the peripheral nerves, there will be no sequelae. Otherwise, postherpetic neuralgia may occur.

Opinion and suggestion: Postherpetic neuralgia has become one of the more difficult diseases at present. Postherpetic neuralgia is caused by viruses retained in the body that erode and damage the peripheral nerves. Therefore, treatment should focus on detoxification and purging fire, and unblocking and repairing nerves blocked by the virus.

In addition to the Western antiviral medicine acyclovir or valacyclovir, vitamins B1, B12, and avoidance of spicy food, tobacco, alcohol, and diet, if the treatment is not effective, it is recommended to use Chinese medicine dialectical oral Chinese herbal medicine plus acupuncture and cupping treatment. Acupuncture and cupping are traditional Chinese medicine treatment methods. Acupuncture can expel viruses, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, while cupping can draw out blood stasis and toxic gases through controlled suction. Even if there is no herpes, you can use plum blossom needles to treat the original skin lesions or use acupuncture on the tendons and meridians and then cupping. The effect is good, especially for those who suffer from recurrent pain and who have not responded to Chinese and Western medicine treatments.
