How to treat skin diseases?

There are various types of skin diseases. If you want to effectively avoid these impacts and troubles, you should pay attention to understanding the correct and effective treatment methods. For common problems such as prickly heat, sunburn, and photosensitive dermatitis, you should focus on treatment and prevention.

1. Prickly heat: It is caused by high temperature and humidity in the environment, excessive sweating, and the inability to evaporate in time, resulting in blockage of sweat pores and accumulation or rupture of sweat. Some manifest as superficial blisters the size of millet grains, which are easily rubbed and healed with mild desquamation. It is more common in infants and pregnant women, and is called white prickly heat; some are scattered small red papules, but have nothing to do with hair follicles, called red prickly heat, which is more common in children; some are small pustules, called purulent prickly heat.

To prevent the occurrence of prickly heat, attention should be paid to ventilation and cooling of the indoor environment, avoiding excessive humidity and high temperature. Clothing should be loose to reduce sweating and facilitate sweat evaporation, and clothes should be changed frequently. Try to keep the skin dry and wipe sweat with a dry towel. Obese people, infants and postpartum women should bathe frequently, but not with cold water, and apply prickly heat powder after wiping dry. Treatment can be with cooling, astringent and antipruritic drugs. If purulent rash occurs, go to the hospital for comprehensive treatment.

2. Sunburn: It is caused by sudden excessive sun exposure, and manifested by the appearance of erythema on the sun-exposed area 3-6 hours after sun exposure. In severe cases, blisters may form, with obvious burning pain and general discomfort.

To prevent sunburn, you should first avoid exposure to strong sunlight, and then proceed step by step, gradually increasing the amount of exposure. Treatment is generally symptomatic, and topical protective agents such as various moisturizers, calamine lotion, corticosteroid creams, etc. can be used.

3. Photosensitive dermatitis: Photosensitive dermatitis is caused by some people's allergy to ultraviolet rays. It is only seen in a minority of people. These people usually develop the disease 1-2 days after sun exposure. The rash often occurs on the face, neck and "V"-shaped area in front of the neck, back of the hands and upper limbs, and manifests as small papules, small blisters, and conscious itching. In severe cases, the rash may also occur in non-light-exposed areas. It is painless, but the itching is obvious and disappears very slowly. If not treated actively, it may develop into a chronic photosensitive skin disease.
