How to treat the azotemia stage of chronic renal failure?

For patients with chronic renal failure who are in the azotemia stage, they should pay more attention to scientific and effective methods. In fact, conservative medical treatment is often adopted, but it is still necessary to evaluate and understand the patient's actual condition and provide targeted treatment.

1. Treatment of primary diseases and predisposing factors For patients with CRF diagnosed for the first time, it is important to pay attention to the diagnosis of the primary disease. Chronic nephritis, lupus nephritis, purpuric nephritis, IgA nephropathy, diabetic nephropathy, etc. all require long-term treatment. At the same time, we should also actively look for various predisposing factors of CRF. Reasonable correction of these predisposing factors may alleviate or stabilize the lesions and improve renal function to a great extent.

2. Diet therapy Diet therapy for chronic renal failure has been considered as its basic treatment measure over the years and is highly praised by scholars from various countries. Previous dietary therapy was generally limited to the use of low-protein diet, but long-term low-protein diet will affect the patient's nutritional status. Studies have shown that the incidence of malnutrition in chronic renal failure is as high as 20% to 50%. Severe malnutrition is now considered to be an independent risk factor for CRF, which is directly positively correlated with the morbidity and mortality rate. Therefore, the current dietary therapy is more inclined to formulate a more reasonable nutritional treatment plan for patients.

3. The currently widely adopted diet is a protein intake of 0.6g/kg body weight, of which 64% of the protein is plant protein and 46% is animal protein. It can provide 35kcal/kg of calories, 0.6g/kg of protein, 600mg of phosphorus, 110g of lipids and 320g of carbohydrates per day. In addition, sufficient trace elements and vitamins should be supplemented.
