Cervical lymphoma is a malignant tumor that can directly endanger life in severe cases. Therefore, for the sake of their own health, people need to have a certain understanding of it. The causes of cervical lymphoma are usually abnormal human immunity and carcinogenic viruses in the body. Its symptoms include swollen lymph nodes, local compression caused by swollen lymph nodes, fever, night sweats, weight loss, etc. When similar symptoms are found, people need to pay attention, seek medical treatment in time, and find scientific and effective treatments to restore their bodies to health as soon as possible. 1. Causes of cervical lymphoma 1. Abnormal human immunity People say that the human body is healthy because its immune function is normal. If the immune system becomes abnormal, not only will one's own health be affected, but the risk of cancer, especially lymphoma, will also increase. In fact, immune factors are one of the main factors for developing this cancer. Because under normal circumstances, the human body's own immune system has the function of immune surveillance. Simply put, it can know the health status of the body at any time. Once an abnormality occurs in the body or cancerous cells appear, it will automatically play a role in clearing them, thereby reducing the risk of cancer. If the human immune function is abnormal, due to the deficiency of immunity, the human body will be infected by the virus and spread throughout the body. At this time, the chance of contracting the disease is higher, leading to the occurrence of lymphoma. So, don't underestimate low immunity. 2. Cancer-causing viruses in the body Generally speaking, the reason why a person develops a certain type of cancer is because there is a certain virus in the body. If these viruses are not cleared in time or the amount of the virus is large, it is easy for people to develop cancer, and this is the case with lymphoma. Lymphoma is also related to viruses. It is closely related to EB virus, human T-lymphotropic virus, and human B-lymphotropic virus. People don't pay too much attention to viruses, thinking that they can be killed as long as they are killed. In fact, most viruses can be easily killed, but not all viruses can be killed like this, especially viruses that cause lymphoma. Therefore, once you find any abnormality in your body, it is best to go to the hospital in time. Only in this way can you not miss the best time for treatment. The early symptoms of most lymphomas are painless enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, and later lymph nodes in other parts such as the submandibular and axillary areas will be discovered. Lymph nodes can range in size from soybeans to dates, are of medium hardness, firm, uniform, and plump. The mediastinum is also one of the common sites of lymphoma. Most patients often have no obvious symptoms in the early stages of the disease. X-ray examination will reveal lobed masses in the middle and anterior mediastinum. About 50% of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) will invade the liver. Symptoms of cervical lymphoma In some cases, hepatosplenomegaly may be the first symptom, but because most of these patients have no obvious abnormalities in liver function, and because the tumor is diffuse, liver scans rarely show large space-occupying lesions, so it is sometimes not easy to detect. In addition to these local manifestations of lymphoma, there are also systemic manifestations caused by tumors. About 10% of patients have fever, rash, night sweats and weight loss as the earliest symptoms. Some patients have long-term irregular fever for unknown reasons. It is only a few years later that superficial lymph node enlargement is discovered and the diagnosis is confirmed after examination. There are also a small number of patients with more hidden lesions, but they often have periodic low-grade fever. The presence of multiple symptoms such as persistent fever, excessive sweating, and weight loss may indicate the progression of the disease. (I) Local manifestations (1) Lymph node enlargement: including superficial and deep lymph nodes. The characteristics are that the enlarged lymph nodes are progressive, painless, hard, and can be moved. In the early stage, they are not adhered to each other, but in the late stage, they can fuse. Anti-inflammatory and anti-tuberculosis treatments are ineffective. Superficial lymph nodes are most common in the neck, followed by the armpits and abdominal groove. The deep part is most common in the mediastinum and beside the abdominal aorta. (2) Local compression symptoms caused by swollen lymph nodes: mainly refers to deep lymph nodes, such as enlarged mediastinal lymph nodes, which can compress the esophagus and cause dysphagia; compress the superior vena cava and cause superior vena cava syndrome; compress the trachea and cause coughing, chest tightness, dyspnea and cyanosis. (II) Systemic symptoms (1) Fever: The fever pattern is mostly irregular, usually between 38-39°C. Some patients may have continuous high fever, intermittent low fever, and a few may have periodic fever. (2) Weight loss: Most patients experience weight loss, with a reduction of more than 10% of their original body weight within 6 months. (3) Night sweats: sweating at night or after falling asleep. (III) Extranodal lesions Lymphoma can invade tissues and organs throughout the body. For example, infiltration of the liver and spleen causes hepatomegaly; infiltration of the gastrointestinal tract causes abdominal pain, bloating, intestinal obstruction and bleeding; infiltration of the lungs and pleura causes cough and pleural effusion; infiltration of the bones causes bone pain and pathological fractures; infiltration of the skin causes skin itching and subcutaneous nodules; infiltration of the tonsils and mouth, nose and pharynx causes dysphagia, nasal congestion and nasal knots; infiltration of the nervous system causes spinal cord compression, cranial neuropathies, etc. If patients have the above symptoms and signs, they should go to the hospital for examination to determine whether they have lymphoma. |
