What are the symptoms of alcoholic liver disease?

In life, many people like to drink alcohol, especially when they have some social gatherings, they will drink a lot of alcohol. Sometimes people even have to get drunk just by drinking. Drinking a small amount of alcohol will have certain benefits to the body, but drinking a lot will cause some harm to the body. Alcoholic liver disease is a common disease in our lives. It is caused by long-term and heavy drinking.

1. What are the symptoms of alcoholic liver disease?

1. Generally speaking, the onset of symptoms depends on how much alcohol you drink and for how long. Alcoholics usually develop their first symptoms after 30 years of drinking and develop serious problems after 40 years. Symptoms are generally positively correlated with the amount of alcohol consumed and the duration of alcoholism. Most people develop obvious symptoms in their 30s, while serious lesions may occur in their 40s. Patients with fatty liver alone usually have no symptoms, and 33% of patients may have an enlarged liver with a smooth surface and occasional tenderness.

2. Routine biochemical examinations are generally normal, and 7-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT) is often increased. Spider nevi and symptoms of hyperestrogenemia and hypoandrogenism directly caused by alcoholism may also occur. Corresponding histological damage can be seen in each stage of the clinical course of alcoholic liver disease. Symptoms in men caused by alcohol are similar to those caused by excess estrogen and insufficient androgen, resulting in smaller testicles and enlarged breasts. Fatty liver is usually asymptomatic, but one-third of patients have an enlarged liver, which occasionally causes liver tenderness.

3. Alcoholic hepatitis may cause fever, jaundice, leukocytosis, liver enlargement, tenderness and conscious pain, and spider nevi on the skin. Patients with cirrhosis may have some symptoms or characteristics of alcoholic hepatitis, and may also develop complications of alcoholic cirrhosis, such as portal hypertension with splenomegaly, ascites, hepatorenal syndrome, confusion (the main symptom of hepatic encephalopathy), or liver cancer. Cirrhosis may be asymptomatic or may present with features of alcoholic hepatitis or with significant complications: portal hypertension with splenomegaly, ascites, hepatorenal syndrome, hepatic encephalopathy, and even primary liver cancer.

2. Methods of conditioning alcoholic liver

1. Eat less sunflower seeds. Sunflower seeds contain unsaturated fatty acids. Eating too much will consume a large amount of bile acid in the body, which can make fat accumulate in the liver more easily and affect the function of liver cells.

2. Preserved eggs contain a certain amount of lead, which can replace calcium in the human body. Frequent consumption of preserved eggs will cause calcium deficiency and osteoporosis, and may also cause lead poisoning.

3. MSG is an excellent seasoning. If patients with liver disease take a large amount at one time or take excessive amounts frequently, they may experience symptoms such as short-term headache, palpitations, and even nausea.

4. Various pickled foods have too high salt content. If patients with liver disease eat too much, it can easily affect water and sodium metabolism, and it should be avoided for patients with cirrhosis.

5. It is not advisable to eat too much chocolate, sugar and various sweets in one day. Eating too much will cause enzyme secretion disorders in the gastrointestinal tract and affect appetite. Sugar is easily fermented, which can aggravate gastrointestinal bloating and is easily converted into fat, which accelerates the liver's storage of fat and promotes the occurrence of fatty liver.

6. Avoid eating wheat and potato products. Researchers point out that in addition to being prohibited from using synthetic diazepam drugs (such as Valium), patients with alcoholic liver disease should also avoid eating wheat and potato foods that contain these natural sedatives.
