The effect of honeysuckle in clearing heat

Speaking of clearing heat, what do you think of? You must be thinking of those fire-clearing medicines, but taking medicine is too bitter and has many side effects. So how can you treat the disease without taking medicine? Everyone has heard of honeysuckle, right? Yes, honeysuckle is a very effective herb for clearing heat. We can make tea with it or make medicine with it, but what about it? Honeysuckle can not only clear away heat, but also has many other benefits. Don’t you know this? Today, I will give you some knowledge about this issue, hoping it will be helpful to you.

Benefits of honeysuckle tea:

The effects and functions of honeysuckle tea: Honeysuckle tea has the effects of clearing away heat and detoxifying, relieving throat, relieving heat and relieving restlessness. Drinking honeysuckle tea has a good effect on summer heat syndrome, diarrhea, influenza, sores, boils, acute and chronic tonsillitis, and periodontitis.

The second effect and function of honeysuckle tea: Honeysuckle tea has the effect of resisting pathogenic microorganisms. Drinking honeysuckle tea regularly has a certain inhibitory effect on many pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, hemolytic streptococci, Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteriae, Vibrio cholerae, Salmonella typhi, Salmonella paratyphi, etc.

Effects and functions of honeysuckle tea: Honeysuckle tea has antibacterial and bactericidal effects on pneumococcus, meningococcus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, tuberculosis, Shigella dysenteriae, Streptococcus mutans, etc., and has inhibitory effects on influenza virus, orphan virus, herpes virus, and leptospira;

Effects and functions of honeysuckle tea: Honeysuckle tea has anti-inflammatory and detoxifying effects. Drinking honeysuckle tea regularly can effectively dissipate carbuncle, boil, intestinal carbuncle and lung carbuncle, and has a strong effect of clearing away heat and detoxifying.

Effects and functions of honeysuckle tea: Honeysuckle tea has the effect of dispelling heat and dissipating evil. Drinking honeysuckle tea has a certain effect on external wind-heat or the initial stage of febrile disease, fever, headache, restlessness, insomnia, coma, red tongue, dry throat and mouth, etc.

The six functions and effects of honeysuckle tea: Honeysuckle tea has the effect of cooling blood and stopping diarrhea. Drinking honeysuckle tea has the effect of detoxifying, stopping diarrhea, cooling blood and relieving throat for heat and toxic dysentery, diarrhea with pus and blood, dampness and heat blocking the throat, and sore throat.

In addition, drinking honeysuckle tea regularly has the effects of clearing away heat and detoxifying, promoting blood circulation, and protecting the skin and beautifying the body.

1. Anti-pathogenic microbial effect: In vitro experiments have shown that flowers and vines have a certain inhibitory effect on a variety of pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, hemolytic Streptococcus, Escherichia coli, Shigella dysenteriae, Vibrio cholerae, Salmonella typhi, Salmonella paratyphi, etc., and are also effective against Pneumococcus, meningococcus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Water extract is stronger than decoction, and leaf decoction is stronger than flower decoction. If used together with Forsythia suspensa, the antibacterial range can be complementary; when used together with penicillin, it can enhance the antibacterial effect of penicillin against drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, which may be a synergistic effect in inhibiting protein synthesis in bacteria.

2. Anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects: Intraperitoneal injection of 0.25g/kg honeysuckle extract can inhibit carrageenan-induced foot swelling in rats. It has also been reported that 30-40g/kg of honeysuckle injection can reduce the severity of egg white-induced foot swelling. Intraperitoneal injection of 8g/kg of honeysuckle extract, twice a day for 6 consecutive days, also has obvious anti-exudative and anti-proliferative effects on rat croton oil granuloma. Early reports showed that honeysuckle had a significant antipyretic effect. However, intravenous injection of cholera vaccine, Bacillus subtilis, and grass subtilis extract into rabbit ears induced fever. It was not confirmed that oral administration of 5g/kg honeysuckle decoction had an antipyretic effect. It is believed that this may be related to the different honeysuckle preparations and dosages used or the tolerance of rabbits.

3. Strengthening immune function: When the honeysuckle decoction is diluted to a concentration of 1:1280, it can still promote the phagocytic function of white blood cells. Intraperitoneal injection of honeysuckle injection into mice also significantly promoted the phagocytic function of inflammatory cells.

4. Central nervous system excitatory effect: Various experimental methods such as electric shock and cage rotation have proven that oral administration of chlorogenic acid can cause central nervous system excitation in rats, mice and other animals. Its effect intensity is 1/6 of that of caffeine. There is no additive or reinforcing effect when the two are used together.

5. Lipid-lowering effect: Oral administration of 2.5 g/kg of honeysuckle to rats can reduce intestinal cholesterol absorption and lower plasma cholesterol levels. In vitro experiments also found that honeysuckle can combine with cholesterol, but Simiao Yong'an Decoction (honeysuckle, Scrophularia, Angelica, and Licorice) can treat experimental atherosclerosis in rabbits. No effect on lowering blood lipids and aortic wall cholesterol content was observed.

6. Anti-endotoxin: The endotoxin content was determined by the horseshoe crab test. 300% honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica) injection was diluted at 1:2-1:64. In vitro tests using either the concave disc method or the test tube method significantly reduced the endotoxin content in the test solution. The 1:2-1:8 dilution tube was liquid like the negative control tube, and the positive control was gel-like. Intravenous injection of 6g/kg of honeysuckle distillate can antagonize the decrease in body temperature and white blood cell count in rabbits caused by intravenous injection of 2.8mg/kg of Pseudomonas aeruginosa endotoxin. Intraperitoneal injection of 7.5g/kg of honeysuckle distillate or 2.5g/kg of injection solution can protect mice injected intraperitoneally with 65mg/kg of Pseudomonas aeruginosa endotoxin, reducing the mortality rate of mice.

7. Other effects: In vitro screening experiments have reported that the water and wine extracts of honeysuckle have obvious cytotoxic effects on sarcoma 180 and Ehrlich ascites carcinoma. Oral administration of honeysuckle extract has a mild preventive effect on experimental gastric ulcers in rats. Oral administration of large doses of chlorogenic acid can increase gastrointestinal motility and promote the secretion of gastric juice and bile. Chlorogenic acid and its decomposition products have a stimulating effect on the isolated uterus of rats. In addition, chlorogenic acid can slightly enhance the pressor effect of adrenaline and its norepinephrine in cats and rats, but has no effect on the nictitating membrane response of cats. [

The above is an explanation of the effects of honeysuckle. Now you have a deeper understanding of honeysuckle. Honeysuckle can not only clear away heat but also reduce fat and enhance immunity. Finally, I hope my article is helpful to you.
