What are the symptoms of a fever and cold? How can I get better quickly without taking medicine?

In general, colds are divided into wind-heat colds and wind-cold colds. Since these two colds are different, the symptoms are also different. You can judge which type of cold you have based on the symptoms. When catching a cold, many people don't like to take medicine and hope to alleviate the condition through dietary adjustments. This is acceptable if the condition just starts.

1. Symptoms of Wind-heat Cold

1. Sore throat, which usually occurs before cold symptoms appear, and the phlegm is usually yellow or black. Wind-heat cold causes sore throat and swollen tonsils; wind-cold cold causes sore throat but no swollen tonsils.

2. Thick nasal discharge: Thick, yellow turbid nasal discharge is mostly caused by wind-heat cold; wind-cold cold only causes clear, watery nasal discharge.

3. In wind-heat cold, the tip and edges of the tongue are red, and the coating is thin, white and slightly yellow. In wind-cold cold, the tip and edges of the tongue are not red, and the coating is thin, white and not yellow.

4. Constipation.

5. Fever, thirst, and irritability. Wind-heat colds are mostly accompanied by dry mouth and thirst, and a preference for cold drinks; wind-cold colds are not accompanied by dry mouth or thirst, and a preference for drinking water.

6. In wind-heat cold, the pulse is floating and rapid, with the pulse beating more than 90 times per minute; in wind-cold cold, the pulse is floating, tight or slow, with the pulse beating mostly less than 90 times per minute.

7. Chills and fever: Both have symptoms of chills and fever at the same time. The difference between the two is that wind-heat cold has more severe fever and mild and not so obvious chills; on the contrary, wind-cold cold has obvious aversion to wind or chills and mild fever.
