Anemic leukoplakia

Anemic leukoplakia

Vitiligo is still a relatively common symptom nowadays. Many people will find some white spots growing on their skin. In many cases, they may be anemic white spots. At this time, you need to pay attention. You need to alleviate the anemia first. Only in this way can you treat the disease fundamentally. And it is generally caused by the disease of vitiligo, so you must receive regular treatment. Basically, conservative treatment is still the main treatment method.

1: The reasons for white spots on the skin are as follows:

For intestinal worm disease, you can go to the gastroenterology department and treat it with medication.

Contact dermatitis or allergic dermatitis sometimes causes white spots in some parts of the body, but the area is not very large.

Vitiligo: 1. There is usually no itching, or even if there is itching it is very mild. 2. The number of depigmented spots is small, usually only 1-2, and most of them appear on exposed skin. 3. Except for the loss of pigmentation, the skin at the depigmented area is the same as the surrounding skin, without any changes such as itching, desquamation or atrophy. 4. Early vitiligo should be considered first when there are no other skin diseases.

2: Special reminder: If the first two diseases are ruled out, it is recommended to go to a regular dermatology hospital for examination. Generally speaking, in addition to vitiligo, common congenital white spots include anemic nevus and apigmented nevus; acquired or secondary white spots include halo nevus, tinea versicolor, pityriasis alba, and secondary white spots caused by inflammatory skin diseases. It is still recommended to see a dermatologist for further examination and diagnosis before treatment.

In emergency situations, patients with severe anemia, the elderly, or anemia patients with cardiopulmonary insufficiency should receive red blood cell transfusions to correct anemia and improve the body's hypoxia. However, blood transfusion is only a temporary treatment measure. Repeated blood transfusions may lead to hemochromatosis, which requires iron removal treatment. Therefore, it is most important to find the cause and provide targeted treatment.

Usually, anemia is just a symptom, not a single disease. Therefore, the underlying cause needs to be determined before effective treatment can be carried out. Patients with acute massive blood loss should actively stop bleeding, while quickly restoring blood volume and transfusing red blood cells to correct anemia. Nutritional anemia can be treated by supplementing the missing nutrients, such as iron supplementation for iron deficiency anemia and treatment of the primary disease that causes iron deficiency; and folic acid or vitamin B12 supplementation for megaloblastic anemia.

The treatment of non-nutritional anemia is more complicated. Autoimmune hemolytic anemia is mainly treated with immunosuppressants such as glucocorticoids. Chronic aplastic anemia is mainly treated with cyclosporine combined with androgens. For example, inherited anemias such as Fanconi anemia can be treated with hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
