Are there any sequelae to cerebral hemorrhage?

Cerebral hemorrhage is a relatively dangerous disease. Once symptoms of cerebral hemorrhage appear, most people need to undergo surgery, but does cerebral hemorrhage have any sequelae? Around us, we always see some people walking slowly, with a limp, and unable to straighten their fingers. Some people also have crooked mouths. These are the sequelae of cerebral hemorrhage, which affect their movements and also have a certain impact on their speech.

Cerebral hemorrhage refers to non-traumatic bleeding within the brain parenchyma, accounting for about 20% to 30% of all strokes. The cause of its occurrence is mainly related to cerebrovascular lesions, that is, it is closely related to hyperlipidemia, diabetes, hypertension, vascular aging, smoking, etc. Patients with cerebral hemorrhage often suffer sudden onset of symptoms due to emotional excitement or strenuous effort. The early mortality rate is very high, with about half of the patients dying within a few days of onset. Most of the survivors have sequelae such as movement disorders, cognitive disorders, speech and swallowing disorders to varying degrees.

Causes

Factors that may cause cerebral hemorrhage in daily life:

1. It is more common in winter and autumn than in summer. This is because the weather is cold in winter, blood vessels constrict, and blood pressure rises. In summer, the weather turns hot, blood vessels dilate, and blood pressure drops. However, heatstroke in summer and increased sweating can also trigger cerebral hemorrhage.

2. Emotional excitement can cause a sudden rise in blood pressure and cause cerebral hemorrhage.

3. Excessive fatigue and excessive exertion cause high blood pressure, which becomes the cause of sequelae of cerebral hemorrhage.

4. Overeating and eating too much greasy food can increase the lipids in the blood, accelerate blood circulation, and suddenly increase blood pressure, which can lead to cerebral hemorrhage. Cerebral hemorrhage causes varying degrees of brain tissue damage, and despite treatment, varying degrees of sequelae remain. This is related to the following factors:

Amount of bleeding: The amount of bleeding directly affects the severity of clinical symptoms.

Location of bleeding: Bleeding in different locations will cause different degrees of brain damage.

Treatment and care during the rehabilitation period: Timely and standardized rehabilitation treatment can greatly reduce the occurrence of sequelae.

Clinical manifestations

1. Limb dysfunction mainly manifests as sensory and motor dysfunction on the hemiplegic side

2. Cognitive and mental disorders: Cerebral hemorrhage with a large scope or multiple recurrences may leave mental and cognitive disorders: such as personality changes, pessimism, depression, mental depression, irritability, etc.

3. Speech dysfunction.

4. Swallowing dysfunction.

5. Other symptoms include headache, dizziness, nausea, insomnia, nightmares, inattention, tinnitus, blurred vision, sweating, palpitations, unsteady steps, neck pain, fatigue, weakness, loss of appetite, memory loss, dementia, depression, etc.
