Lumbar disc herniation is a relatively common disease, which poses a great threat to the patient's health. It needs to be treated in time, and there are many treatment methods. Good conditioning in daily life is also helpful for recovery. Although plank support cannot treat the disease fundamentally, it can enhance the strength of the waist muscles and prevent further aggravation of lumbar disc herniation. Traction can be performed for mild patients, and they should sleep on a hard bed at ordinary times. Exercise therapy for lumbar disc herniation 1: Use an ironing board or wooden board at home, and add a safety belt or a strong leather belt to securely hold your waist. Lie prone and support yourself with both hands. Hold for 3 minutes and then return to the original position. Repeat 6-8 times. 2: Lie on your stomach with a pillow under your abdomen. Clasp your hands behind your back, lift your legs, head and shoulders as far as possible, hold for one second, then lower them and relax. Repeat 6 to 8 times. Three: Relaxation movements. After completing the above exercises, do some knee flexion exercises. Take a rest for a while in the correct sitting posture, that is, sit on a hard chair with your buttocks close to the base of the chair back. If conditions permit, it is best to place a cylindrical backrest in the center of the chair back. Keep your shoulder blades as close to the chair back as possible and your legs naturally relaxed. 4: Standing stretch. Stand upright with your feet slightly apart and your hands on your waist and back, with your fingers together. Point your fingers backward, use your hands as support, and bend your torso upwards from the waist as far back as possible, keeping your knees straight. Hold for a second or two, then return to the starting position. With each repetition, try to bend your upper body further back and more than the previous time to achieve the greatest possible stretch. What are the various hazards of lumbar disc herniation? 1. Lumbar disc herniation will accumulate to the sciatic nerve. I believe many people know about sciatica. Now with the popularization of CT, it is found that most sciatica is actually caused by compression after lumbar disc herniation. The sciatic nerve mainly comes from the L4-5 and S1-3 nerve roots and is relatively thick. When the sciatic nerve is accumulated, abnormal skin sensation often occurs in the buttocks, posterior and lateral thighs, and calves. 2. Lumbar disc herniation can cause compression of the femoral nerve. The femoral nerve mainly comes from the L2-4 spinal nerves, and its main clinical symptoms are pain, discomfort or abnormal sensation in the groin and front of the thigh. 3. Involvement of the obturator nerve. The obturator nerve is derived from the L2-4 spinal nerves, exits the psoas major muscle and enters the small pelvis. Clinically, when lumbar disc herniation infringes upon the obturator nerve, it can mainly manifest as pain or numbness in the deep buttocks and other parts of the body. |
