Can chlortetracycline be used to treat body odor?

Can chlortetracycline be used to treat body odor?

The cause of body odor is due to large molecular sweat glands. Treatment with chloramphenicol has certain bactericidal and odor-inhibiting effects, but it can only be a short-term treatment and cannot completely cure body odor. If you want to completely cure body odor, the best method is some surgical treatment, cryotherapy, or scraping and liposuction treatment, etc. In addition, traditional Chinese medicine treatment also has a certain effect.

Western medicine treatment

1. Local injection

Generally, alcohol and hardeners with a purity of 95% are injected. However, after the operation, patients often experience hardening of the skin in their armpits, which can also easily cause skin necrosis, and the effect can only last for one or two months.

2. Cryotherapy

Using liquid nitrogen to deep freeze the apocrine sweat glands not only causes deep corroding of the wound and slow recovery, but also causes the loss of melanocytes, resulting in whitening of the skin in the armpits. This is dangerous and has a high recurrence rate, which is unacceptable to patients.

3. Skin flap excision surgery

This is an ancient method. Surgical methods such as "prismatic", "Z-shaped", "S-shaped" excision and other reshaping of local skin. This method generally involves removing all the skin with armpit hair, including the large and small sweat glands and their normal tissues, in order to destroy the normal physiological function of the armpit. It also requires 10 to 20 stitches, and it takes about 10 days to heal. The armpit cannot be lifted, so the healing time is long and it affects work and study. If the armpit hair is extensive and the excision area is large, it will also affect the upper limb function and appearance. If the excision area is small, the recurrence rate is also high, so it is basically not used at present.

4. Scraping and liposuction surgery

This is a surgical method in which a small incision of one centimeter is made in the area where the apocrine sweat glands are densely distributed under the armpit. The surgical instrument is then inserted between the dermis and subcutaneous fat to scrape out the apocrine sweat glands.

5. Small incision surgery

These methods involve many human factors. If the technique is too heavy, it can easily cause skin necrosis (or shedding), which can take half a month to heal; if the technique is too light, it can easily lead to relapse, with a recurrence rate of about 10% to 20%.

6. Burning method

Lasers, ions, and microwaves use physical methods to carbonize and seal the sweat pores in the armpits, which results in a large burn area, great pain after surgery, and large scars. The therapeutic effect is poor and there is no cure. The recurrence rate is as high as 76.45%.

TCM treatment methods

1. Treatment with Chinese medicine

A professional Chinese herbal product for removing body odor. The deodorizing factors it contains can instantly kill bacteria on the surface of the armpits, remove the odor produced by the reaction of unsaturated fatty acids and bacteria, and penetrate into the bacterial cell walls to inhibit the growth and reproduction of bacteria, thereby eliminating the formation of bacteria. Moreover, the harmonizing and repairing factors it contains can regulate the intercellular spaces between the sweat gland duct walls, restoring them to their normal width, allowing them to discharge secretions normally, effectively preventing excessive penetration of lipid macromolecules, reducing the secretion of unsaturated fatty acids, and thoroughly eliminating body odor from deep within.
