Where to massage for knee pain

Knee pain has become a common phenomenon in life. People have to walk every day, and a lot of activities can easily put a burden on the knee joints and cause wear and tear on the knee joints. Over time, the knee ligaments are damaged and pain symptoms will appear. If not treated in time and weight-bearing activities are performed every day, arthritis, joint pain, etc. may occur. Usually, you can massage your knees to relieve the pain, so where is the best place to massage your knees?

Inner knee eye. There is an acupoint on each leg at the inner knee, for a total of two. Positioning: Sit on a stool with your calf and thigh at 90 degrees (right angles). There is a depression under the inner side of the knee, which is the inner knee pit. Efficacy: Massaging the knee acupoint can relax muscles and tendons, dredge joints, and relieve knee pain, leg pain, numbness of lower limbs, etc.

Weizhong point. There are two Weizhong points on each leg, one in total. Location: Weizhong point is located in the center of the popliteal fossa, that is, in the center of the leg pit. Efficacy: Massaging the Weizhong point can not only relieve knee pain but also relieve waist and back pain. This is the reason why it is said that “the pain in the waist and back should be relieved in Weizhong point”.

Dubi point. The Dubi point is also called the outer knee eye. Positioning: With the calf and thigh at a right angle, in the depression below the outer knee. Efficacy: Massaging the Dubi point can relieve knee pain, knee flexion and extension problems, and other symptoms.

Yangling Spring. There is one acupoint on each leg, two in total. Positioning: Sit on a stool with your calves and thighs at right angles. Look at the picture below. If you feel forward from the back of the leg, there is a high point, which is the fibula head. The Yanglingquan is in the depression in front and below the fibula head. Indications and functions: Yanglingquan can treat knee joint diseases such as swollen and painful knees, numbness and paralysis of the lower limbs, etc.

Yinling Spring. There are two Yinlingquan acupoints, one on each leg. Location: There is a depression when you feel downward from the medial condyle of the tibia. The depression is the location of Yinlingquan. Main indications: Yinlingquan can treat knee pain, as well as urinary problems, abdominal distension, diarrhea and other symptoms. If you feel any discomfort, you can have a massage.

The effect of massage is generally not as good as that of acupuncture and moxibustion, so if conditions permit, it is still better to try acupuncture. You can also apply hot compress to the knee joint for knee pain, massage the knee more often, keep warm, and exercise appropriately.
