Anti-PCNA antibody weakly positive

Anti-PCNA antibody weakly positive

Anti-PCNA antibodies are also called proliferating cell nuclear antigen. There are many methods for this type of examination. PCNA is a protein that is synthesized and exists in the cell nucleus. It is an auxiliary protein of DNA. In recent years, research on PCNA has been relatively hot, mainly because of tumors. After all, there are more and more tumor patients now, and this kind of research can help patients detect tumors early.

Characteristics PCNA is a protein with a molecular weight of 36KD. It is synthesized and exists in the cell nucleus and is an auxiliary protein of DNA polymerase δ. There are two types of PCNA in the cell nucleus: soluble and insoluble. Soluble PCNA is expressed in all stages of the cell cycle, and its amount does not change significantly during DNA synthesis. It is easily extracted by detergents and destroyed by methanol.

Insoluble PCNA is relatively stable and is not easily eluted by detergents or destroyed by methanol. This type of PCNA has no obvious expression in cells in the G0-G1 phase. Its expression increases significantly in the late G1 phase, reaches a peak in the S phase, and decreases significantly in the G2-M phase. The change in its amount is consistent with DNA synthesis. Detecting its expression in cells can be used as an indicator to evaluate the cell proliferation status [1,2,4].

Research on PCNA in Tumors Tumor cells have vigorous proliferation activity, and PCNA can be used as an indicator to evaluate the cell proliferation status. Therefore, PCNA has been studied in many tumors at home and abroad, involving the correlation between PCNA and various aspects of tumor occurrence and development [5,6], grading [1,7-10], staging [1,10], radiotherapy sensitivity [11,12], prognosis [1,7,8,10,13-20], recurrence and metastasis [1,21], causes of death [20], tumor markers [18,22], etc. Many conclusions have been drawn, but in some aspects, there are still some controversies due to the differences in authors and tumors studied. Even if there are no controversial conclusions, they are drawn from one or several tumors. Whether these conclusions are applicable to all tumors still needs further study. Study on PCNA in lung cancer

There are also many studies on PCNA in lung cancer. Many authors have devoted themselves to this research, hoping to find meaningful and valuable results. However, so far, some of the results of PCNA research in lung cancer are also controversial.
