The BV test is a test for bacterial vaginosis. It is a routine test for leucorrhea and a relatively common test. It mainly refers to the imbalance of normal flora in the vagina, which is an infection phenomenon, especially anaerobic bacteria infection is the most common. If a weak positive result is detected, there may be mild bacterial vaginitis. At this time, you must strengthen prevention, pay more attention to rest, and pay attention to timely treatment. The earlier the treatment, the better the effect. What is leucorrhea BV test BV refers to a clinical syndrome characterized by a decrease in the number of normal genital tract flora (H202-producing Lactobacillus) and an increase in the number of anaerobic bacteria (Bacteroides, Gardnerella, Mobilunella, Mycoplasma hominis and Streptococcus, etc.). It is called bacterial because there is an obvious abnormal growth of large amounts of anaerobic bacteria; it is called vaginosis because there is an increase in vaginal secretions, but there is no inflammatory response seen in clinical vaginitis, and there is no local increase in white blood cells. The study of BV has a history of more than a century. In the past, due to limited understanding of it, various articles reported many names, such as "nonspecific vaginitis, vaginal Gardnerella vaginitis, vaginal Haemophilus influenzae vaginitis", etc. Until now, many domestic clinicians still call this type of patients "nonspecific vaginitis". In order to achieve a unified name, the 1984 Swedish International Academic Conference officially named it "Bacterial Vaginosis". Precautions: The following situations will affect the results of leucorrhea examination and should be avoided. 1. Avoid sexual intercourse within 24 hours before the leucorrhea examination. 2. Avoid taking a bath, vaginal douching, or applying topical medication before the examination. 3. It is not advisable to check leucorrhea before or after menstruation, during pregnancy, or after taking estrogen drugs. Clinical significance 1. When the vaginal pH value is >5-6, it may be trichomoniasis or bacterial vaginitis. 2. When the vaginal cleanliness is grade III to IV, it may indicate vaginitis. 3. Vaginal microbiological examination shows positive results for Candida and Trichomonas, which may indicate vaginitis. 4. If the leucorrhea is abnormal, such as yellow or yellow-green with a foul odor, it may be Trichomonas vaginitis; if the leucorrhea is like tofu dregs, it may indicate fungal vaginitis. |
