What are the signs of sudden death from excessive drinking?

In fact, many people in life have alcoholism and excessive drinking behaviors and habits, but this is undoubtedly playing a joke on their own life and health, because in many cases excessive drinking can easily cause sudden death, or cause more harm, so no matter who you are, you should pay attention to avoid alcoholism and excessive drinking. The signs before sudden death are a sudden drop in blood sugar, labored breathing, and severe pain in the upper abdomen after a long time.

1. Lowering blood sugar: Alcohol is mainly metabolized in the liver. The liver's metabolism of alcohol requires increased consumption of enzymes in liver cells, resulting in hypoglycemia. People who suffer from hypoglycemia after drinking alcohol will have pale complexion, palpitations, and sweating. In severe cases, people may even fall into a coma. If hypoglycemia coma lasts for more than 6 hours, the patient will suffer from cerebral edema and central nervous system damage due to prolonged hypoglycemia. Even if treated, he will suffer from varying degrees of neurological damage and may even die.

2. Breathing difficulty Drinking a lot of alcohol will make the sympathetic-adrenal medullary system active, increase blood pressure and increase cerebral blood flow. At the same time, alcohol can directly inhibit the formation and maturation of platelets, which can easily lead to cerebral hemorrhage. Drinking-related cerebral hemorrhage can cause the drinker to become confused, have difficulty breathing, and their lips to turn blue and purple. Symptoms include dizziness, unsteady standing, pale complexion, nausea, etc. Severe cases can lead to death.

3. Severe upper abdominal pain after drinking. Alcohol stimulates gastric acid secretion, which further stimulates pancreatic secretion and leads to acute pancreatitis. Respiratory complications are quite common in acute pancreatitis, and about 70% of patients with acute pancreatitis have varying degrees of respiratory insufficiency. Some people also have persistent and severe abdominal pain, often with sudden onset of severe pain in the left or right upper abdomen a few hours after drinking. Acute pancreatitis can induce cardiac arrest or sudden death, and the mortality rate is high if not treated in time.
