Failure to correct posture in time may cause these harms to the human body

Nowadays, many people often have bad postures. For example, they often choose to lie down to write, play with mobile phones or computers, or lie on their backs because of work fatigue or back pain. These will cause great damage to the lumbar spine and spine. Incorrect posture will gradually cause patients to have lumbar disc herniation, cervical deformity, cervical disc herniation, and cervical stiffness.

Avoid lying down for a long time

Many elderly friends like to watch TV lying on the sofa or even lying in bed. Sleeping or watching TV for a long time is very harmful to the elderly. Poor blood circulation results in untimely nutrient delivery throughout the body, and the metabolic products in the muscles, joints, etc. cannot be carried away by the blood in time. Over time, it can cause back pain at the very least, and even lead to diseases such as lumbar muscle strain at the worst, and the health of the spine will also be seriously damaged. Not long ago, we admitted a 63-year-old patient who often suffered from blurred vision, numbness and coldness in the upper limbs, and pain in the occipital and neck areas. An MRI examination revealed that the patient's thoracic vertebrae were severely twisted, severely compressing the spinal cord, and surgical treatment was necessary. It turned out that the patient had the habit of lying on the sofa watching TV and often fell asleep while watching. His illness was related to this bad habit.

It is recommended that elderly friends do not lie in bed all the time, but should move more, which is beneficial to bone health.

Second, avoid "sitting for a long time"

Some people love to read books and newspapers, "a cup of tea, a cigarette, and a pile of books and newspapers to read all day", or often sit and play cards or mahjong. Sitting for long periods of time without proper rest and physical activity can lead to anemia and even bone damage.

An old accountant had suffered from low back pain and pain in his right lower limb for more than ten years. He had taken various Chinese and Western medicines, but with poor results. He went to the hospital and the doctor diagnosed him with lumbar disc herniation, lumbar spinal stenosis, and lumbar vertebral slippage, which required surgery. This was caused by sitting for too long. If the lumbar spine and muscles are in a state of tension for a long time, it will cause muscle strain, intervertebral disc degeneration, and induce serious consequences such as intervertebral disc herniation.

Chronic mechanical damage to muscles or ligaments caused by sitting in the same posture for a long time is called "sitting fatigue" in traditional Chinese medicine. Over time, it will lead to an imbalance in the strength of the entire waist. Sitting for long periods of time is also related to the onset of diseases such as chronic gastritis, peptic ulcers, coronary heart disease, lumbar muscle strain, and hemorrhoids.

The third taboo is "standing for a long time"

On the streets or in the parks, one can often see people watching chess. They stand for hours at a time, violating a cardinal rule in traditional Chinese medicine that “standing for long periods of time will damage bones.”

If young people stand for a long time without walking, the poor venous blood return in the lower limbs will cause low back pain, weak legs, and numbness in the feet. What's more, the blood vessels and bones of the elderly are aging, and standing for a long time is more likely to hurt the muscles and bones, causing varicose veins in the lower limbs and inflammation of the waist and knee joints and other diseases.
